Your favorite stone

An old hard arkie. Not because it's the best but because I used it for years to get razor sharp edges on knives before I learned about progressions. Now I have hundreds of dollars worth of stones but the edges don't get any sharper :) they just get there much quicker.

THIS I used to mess with trying to get crazy mirror edges .
But then I realized I actually use my blades way to much to care if it's polished cause I'm going to ruin that polish very fast .
Granted polished edges have their place but I have found for most things a toothy fine edge is better anyway .

I can say some polished edges are scary sharp and I love it but if it's just shiny and won't cut your finger skin (probably a rounded apex) out comes my fine stone to the rescue followed by a stropping with some mothers and I'm good to go

I love my king stones.
I only have 3 800,1000, 2000. They put a good enough finish on my edges for me and I always have a lot of fun sharpening, not sure why...maybe I'm crazy

My favorite stone is Nubatama. I take no discounts or deals on stones or equipment from any vendor. I imagine that isn't true of all who post their views. So anything I may say, comment on, or recommend is the truth as I see it.

I for one have never received anything knife related ,no knives stones etc. My opinions are mine with the stones I bought .

Well I was gifted a strop from a friend not a vendor , and my beston 1200 came with a crack. The vendor gave me store credit and I used it to get a 2x6 dmt but I already had the 8x3 lineup.

My favorite stone is the norton jb8.
But if I could only choose one for everything, it would be about a 50 micron diamond stone (~250 grit coarse eze-lap).

Spyderco 2"by8" fine. If I had to own only one, that'd be it. Even if you couldn't re-profile with it , as long as you hit the apex with it the edges on almost any steel are very good. I prefer that over the UF as it's just a bit more aggressive.
