I haven't really used the non-Victorinox or non-Wenger can openers so I can't compare beyond those. Of the three Victorinox+Wenger designs, the standard Victorinox is the best IMHO, followed by the claw style of the old Wengers, and the Victorinox combo tool. They are work fine, but it is mainly a matter of how much time and effort it takes to accomplish the task.

As an aside: a Victorinox is a multi-tool in the literal sense. The "Swiss Army Knife" expression is a advertising thing, which stuck as a general reference. Frankly, I use the scissors in my SAKs more than I use the blade. Also, the law in my area is the "need a valid reason to carry a knife"-type. So if anyone asks: I'm carrying a multi-tool; the fact that it also includes a blade is a secondary consideration.

Well it really seems clear from the poll that the standard Vic can opener is heavily favored. I'm going to give it another shot. Maybe I've just been using it wrong somehow. I'll try and see if I can figure out how to use it better. :)

I voted for the Leatherman claw-style can opener. I find it much more intuitive to use (on the rare occasions that I encounter a can without a pull tab). Every time I try to use the Victorinox can opener to open a can, I make a huge mess of it.

I still don't know what I'm doing wrong, but the regular Victorinox can opener works a lot better when I just use it backwards. You're supposed to use it forwards, right? I'm hopeless with this style can opener. I guess I'll just keep using it backwards then...

I voted combo tool. Not because it works better, just because I think the combo tool is a great design. Both Vic can openers get the job done.

I've opened a lot more cans with a P38 than anything else. And still have one on key ring. I get along fine with either SAK style too but prefer the combination style.

I have one on my key chain too, but I haven't really used it for opening cans. I've used it for turning screws though. It also makes a half decent package opener in a pinch.

Spear!

I prefer the claw style. It always seems faster and with the Vic style I always get that irritating flex towards the end of the circle around the lid that interferes with the final couple of cuts. As also pointed out, you can use the claw style as a package opener or a score. They also work as a bottle opener.

My preference on an MT would be to replace bottle openers with a claw can opener and then you have room for a different tool like a prybar/chisel or something else

What is the style that seems to be bygone where the can opener has two prongs, one with a bend at the end and the other sharp tip like a claw??? I only see them on older pocket knives. I cannot figure how that would work.

Having had to use the can opener on my surge and juice in the past few days, I much prefer the can opener on the surge. The one on the juice got it done but seemingly barely, had a harder time. Can't comment on the SAK ones, I haven't used one

I did my mini test and the spear can opener works great. True, the metal on this can was quite thin, too easy to open. I guess in WW1 cans were made of thicker and stronger iron

The crab claw, it seems to me, is simply a cheapening of the design - no need to make a hole in the blade and make a separate pin that needs to be correctly seated in this hole. Just slap-slap with a press. Fast and cheap

My wife's plastic can opener died right before Christmas and I ordered her an American made one. In the days it took to get here I used the one on my Arc several times.

It worked great.

In truth, it's not a blade.

Other than that, it goes to the Swiss knife section.
