• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Maybe I am over analyzing this, but the question was SURVIVAL SKILL. That being said, shelter and/or fire is on the top for me. However, I picked plant ID for the poll. Plants are the foundation of almost all skills if you think about.

- what do you make your shelter out of?
- what is you tinder and fuel for fire?
- what do you wipe your butt with if need be?
- what is cordage made from?
- medicine
- food
- what real food eats
- traps
etc.

Who is the author of that book? Can you give me a link to that? ThankX

That would be Bushcraft by Mors Kochanski. You NEED that book.
http://www.amazon.com/Bushcraft-Outdoor-Skills-Wilderness-Survival/dp/1551051222/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1211805624&sr=1-1

Also, Primitive Wilderness Living & Survival Skills: Naked into the Wilderness
http://www.amazon.com/Primitive-Wilderness-Living-Survival-Skills/dp/0967877776/ref=pd_sim_b_title_3

and Primitive Wilderness Skills, Applied & Advanced
http://www.amazon.com/Primitive-Wilderness-Skills-Applied-Advanced/dp/0967877784/ref=pd_sim_b_title_4

Are good to have.

Another must is SAS Survival Handbook: How to Survive in the Wild, in Any Climate, on Land or at Sea
http://www.amazon.com/SAS-Survival-Handbook-Survive-Climate/dp/0060578793/ref=pd_sim_b_img_3

Get the full sized book, not the compact. The compact leaves out a lot of the images and illustrations that help you see what he's talking about.

At the very least you should have Bushcraft and the SAS Survival Handbook.
