Your favorite YouTube knife reviewer?

Agreed. Although he can get sidetracked and ramble on, he covers every aspect of a knife.

I think that can be his downfall, IMO. I don't want to hear his opinion on the weight of the knife, simply saying it weighs this much is fine for me. Also I think him talking about what he thinks this knife would be used for is kind of boring to me.

I think if he managed to cut his videos into 5 - 10 minute reviews then he'd be a great reviewer, I just don't have the time to watch a 28 minute review on a torch or knife, thats like watching the news, or some tv show for half and hour, almost as long.

But I think its great that there are so many knife reviewers out there, as it lets you get lots of opinions on a product (if they all review it). Which can make it a lot easier if your unable to handle the product beforehand.

I agree again. No knife review should last more than 10 minutes. 5-7 minutes is really enough if they get to the point.

Nutnfancy does really good reviews. My first serious knife purchase (Cold Steel Spartan) was based on his recommendation.
He does ramble, though. Gets to be annoying.

I had a nice chat with Dagon when I met him at the Dutch Knife Exhibition yesterday. He´s got a great taste in knives
But I´ve got the same problem with him as I do with Nutnfancy: sooooo much talking an so little knife porn....Really, Nutnfancy can talk for 10 minutes leaving the knife closed on the table.

From what I've seen so far, each reviewer is really good for their own audience.

From a knifeuser/hunter perspective, I think virtuovice is the best. You can tell he speaks from years of experience. He's not easily awed by a knife. Very introspective and accurate.

From a collecter's pov, Dagon is very good. Especially for people who have already edge-ucated themselves on the popular models out there. I think he broadens the horizon for people who want to know more about Klotzli, Lionsteel and other makers who are not US-based or not heavily marketed.

Nutnfancy, the Cajunblaze , Cutlerylover. They are very good source of information for first-time buyers. I think people new to knives are really learning a lot from them. Between them they review tons of knives and they make the reviews very simple and easy to understand for people who may not be familiar with knives and terminology. Good for them all. I think I know a little about knives and I still enjoy their reviews.

I like Nutnfancy - he does try to be consistent with his reviews and does review a lot of knives.

I really appreciate knife review videos where the reviewer makes an honest attempt at actually using the knife during the video. I watch the videos because I am researching my next purchase - so I want to get a good feel for how the knife works in the hand, etc. Too many people just rant for 3-7 minutes, or just do the silent video where they just either flick the knife open a few times or quick draw it from their pocket.

Yawn.

There are many good ones out there; some of the newer guys are checking in with unique viewpoints and good quality videos. I like many of the afore-mentioned ones.
My current favorite is edgedweapons88 who has quietly kept improving his reviews and is a knife user, as opposed to collector.

Bluntruth and virtuovice.

Most of the other guys aren't really doing knife reviews at all. They seem to be just giving their impression of the knife compared to other knives they've handled.

Nutnfancy is good, if a bit too thorough. Nothing wrong with it, but if his vids were just a bit shorter I'm sure more people would like him. Cutlerrylover is o.k. in my book as well. Honorable mention goes to CFRN Allycat for being a cool, attractive, knife gal.

i totally agree with you.

I really like Nutnfancy. I follow his knife reviews and also his adventures. He fights for the rights of individuals to carry the tools for self defense and to aid those around you. Whether it be knife or gun I believe that he genuinely does his best to be as unbiased as possible and manages to admit if he was wrong. Good real world reviews in a variety of conditions as well as desktop reviews.

I also like Ankerson....When is telling the truth:rolleyes::D

Although NutnFancy can be a little long winded with his 10 minute "tabletops", they are informative and his survival blade tests in the mountains are very usefull. I live in Idaho and camp in the mountains frequently. Seeing a blade chop, split wood, and shave before buying it is great and the info about the handle feel and sheaths are also. Anyone "bashing" him needs to get out and make their own videos.
