Spyderco "Franken-Dura" - pretty much parts-built. Still going strong after 7+ years. The serrated blade still cuts even though it's needed sharpening for the last couple years. (Just haven't sent it back to Spyderco yet.)

Two first generation Enduras: both used & nearly beat to death - the top one still cuts well enough to get use regularly; the bottom one is retired for now.

Manix II with Grimsmo scales. This pic is from a year or two back. It actually looks worse today.

Would love to see some before and after pics!
Like some knives dirtied and edges wrecked then some pics of em cleaned up

Here is my Benchmade 721. I think that's what it is. It was made before they started putting the model number under the butterfly logo. It's ATS-34, and came from the factory with a half-serrated combo edge. I got sick of the serrations and ground them off. With a LANSKY. It was in my pocket literally every day of my life for about 15 years. Then, I became knife crazy. I can't believe I only owned one knife for that long. Well, one REAL knife.

EDIT: Check out how far back into the ricasso I have ground from sharpening it. About a 1/4 of that was from the serrations being ground off, but most is just from sharpening. It has probably been sharpened 200 times. The thickness behind the edge is ridiculous. I bet it's 0.050" or more.

Oh, and the male half of the pivot screw fell out about a month after I bought it. I carried it with half a pivot pin for 15 years!!! I know I could call BM and get one sent to me, just too lazy.

Here it is with my buddy's nice new one. His had about a year's worth of use at the time of the picture, mine had around 15 years of use.

Nice pics. A favorite knife of mine.

I've given a few knives away over the years when they have got to a certain point of used beyond expectations; always with a few years left but I've had the best of them.
I do like serrated Spydercos, but they are best "fresh" and for when needed, rather than an everyday user. Well expect to get through them if you do give them a lot of work. Great for an adventure but not lifestyle.

Coatings: a fast way to make a good knife look tatty quickly. I generally avoid when possible.

Does this affect cutting performance?
By the way, you have sold me to Benchmade... I can't believe you used it that long without the screw! It seems to me it still has plenty life left!!!!
