Your most impressive knife?

The knife that impresses me the most is this switchblade, 9 inch, picklock in O1 tool steel and African Blackwood,
Hand made, completely flawless operation rocksolid lockup, no solder, these bolsters are pinned. Replaceable kick spring.
What actually impresses the crap out of me is the fact is was made by a young 17 yo high school student from the US, with the absolutely the basic of tools, Files, drill press and a cheap as grinder from Harbour freight.
This young man has a stellar future ahead of him.

Kris,
So many impressive knives on this thread, but yours really gets to me, especially with that story.

CKF Capitalist Timascus/Damasteel/Zirc accents. This is easily the most impressive knife I’ve owned in terms of “wow factor”.

However, I’m personally more impressed with this:

This is my 2015 Reate Torrent in M390, anodized by yours truly. I find this knife truly impressive for a few reasons. First, the tolerances are absolutely amazing. The micro-milling everywhere is flawless, and the action is basically free-fall with zero resistance. It reassembles perfectly centered every time. The design is also excellent, in my opinion. The ergonomics are perfect for my hands, the blade shape is extremely useful, and all the lines flow into each other open or closed. And then the bearing pocket clip is the kicker for me.

I think the Torrent is the best original design Reate ever made. I think they should bring it back with more options.

From a functional standpoint, my most impressive knives are a Rukus 610 with a Vanax reblade by Josh and Nathan's light chopper with his delta heat treat 3V.

But from a design standpoint, I have to go with the late Elijah Isham's greatest design, the Eschaton.

Medford Praetorian Genesis T in S90V and Large Sebenza in Magnacut with Box Elder inlays are the two knives I own that I’m impressed with on a daily basis. They look , feel and carry differently but each exudes quality and cuts like a dream. I love them both and I feel lucky to own them. IMG_6510.jpeg

While I appreciate beautiful knives, I prefer user knives that are comfortable to use when my hands are cold or tired.

A small fixed blade ODC by Adam Kornalski just amazes me in that it can do much more than it seems reasonable to expect from a small blade. The handle is super comfortable and the blade is a great design.

My Skrama 240 impresses me each time I use it due to the ergonomics, functionality, usefulness, edge holding with ease of sharpening.

CPK SDFK is impressive because it is pretty much the perfect field knife- I do not leave the road system without it.

Spyderco M2 may not have the latest steel, but I happen to really like S30V. It is impressive to me because I just love it! Even more than my PM2 which has been my favorite folder for a long time.

When I find myself grinning simply because of how great a knife performs (even on mundane tasks), I can’t help but be impressed. 😀

Knives like people impress me in different ways. So,I couldn't say I have one knife that is the most impressive.

So I have 2 knives that have been impressive to me in a meaningful way. The Kershaw so82blk in n690 I've used for the last 4 years daily for the firsr three of those four. The shape of the blade has been incredibly useful for my life of work and play. It also made the n690 one of my favorite steels for its balance of edge retention and resharpenability.

the David Mary riverhawk in AEB-L has been on my belt daily for almost a year. It is a knife I find I can't leave home without. It has changed my view of thin stock knives , short knives (3" cutting edge), Aebl, fixed blade edc, and horizontal belt carry. It was the perfect storm of the most un-me knife I could have bought. As someone that uses a knives many times daily it has been used on everything from windshield adhesive, door frames, sheetrock, rubber, and everything normal. It has been an ideal balance of edge retention and resharpenability. It's hard to make a simple hawkbill sexy but it's function has been unmatched for me. My EDC rotation revolves around it and over the years that rotation has cost me many thousands of dollars.
