Your Most Prized Possession in your collection

3 of them:

1. Broadwell recurved subhilt in red/cream/pink walrus and Norris progressive ladder for blade & fittings
2. Broadwell drop point hunter, Norris leaning/progressive ladder and seriously premium stag. Pretty special since I did the sketch on it, gave it to Dave, he did his magic in producing it, and it showed up for Christmas a few years ago.
3. an old early 70's Buck 110 my grandpa gave me

I've always collected knives. Since I was allowed to have my first one at the age of 9. I don't have any of those knives from back then but I do have a bunch of knives now. I don't even know how many. At first I thought this was going to be a hard choice when I thought about all of them. But in just half a second it came to me. The last folder my step-dad, Bob Ogg, carried is the one. He made that folder for himself not long before he died. Carried it every day until he couldn't get out of bed any more.

It's a stag handled, two blade Omega folder. The most popular knife he ever made. He even used the date from the year he was born for the serial number. That was a very special knife to him. Yeah, that would be the one. I've thought of carrying it but I just can't bring myself to do it. If I have to sell all of my other knives I will. But I'll eat dirt before I'll ever part with that one.

I had have to say three. The first is a Jim Hardenbrook knife my dad gave me in high school. I only recently found out how rare it is, but I've always treasured it because it's from my dad.

The second is my grandfather's Boker stockman. He was a rancher and I know that knife made many a calf into a steer.

The third I just recently got from my wife for my 40th birthday. It's a "blue circles" Umfaan and now it's my EDC. Thanks again, Pres, if your out there.

hmmm....

Well I have a few...

One, a German WW-II Mauser Bayonet, with high polished bolsters, chechered black scales, high polished blade (sadly scratched from metal-sheath), with a red felt insert int he attachement slot. DOnt know what the deal is with it being so fancy, but I;ve never seen another like it in the same condition (only seen a few others) and its special to me as it was given to me by an old family friend when I was about 7. He had brought it back from the front lines and it was very important to him. He was a great dude...a wealth of knowledge and is now sadly passed.

Two, Timberline Aviator Prototype, Sterile, supposedly one out of a series of 5 sterile proto's for the military. Am quite attached to it for some reason.

Three, the newest addition, Emerson Custom CQC-7.

I'm sure there are others that mean a lot to me..but these are the ones that come to mind immediatly.

Nice knives guys! Etaka, I'm jealous! :)

My most prized is the one and only knife in my "collection". I collect military and fighting knives and the first one that I got (and only one I have in my collection) is a Kabar short. It is special because it is the first in my collection, and more importantly, the first knife my girlfriend gave me. That was my x-mas present last year.

I consider it my first knife, a small leather-handled Kabar hunter given to me by my late father. My friends believe it's a silver and jade dagger (letter opener), one of a matched set of two, that Dr. Sun Yat-Sen presented to our Secretary of State during the brief 3 month period that he was President of the Republic of China.

An old Western barlow that I carried for 10 years, and a Colonial SAK knock-off that I got for my ninth birthday. Alot of memories and good times fom these two.:)

That's tough one.. i have 5 knives that are my most prized in my collection in no perticular order,
a Randall no.1 from the early 60' with Jhonson rough back sheath i got from my father to help me start a collection about 20 years ago,

a Spyderco police model i got from sal Glesser with Carbon fiber handels[the only one in excistance as far as i know].

a japanese Wakizhshi in prestine condition from 1624

a Cataragus qartermaster from WW II my father carried from that war and on to another 5 wars here in israel.

a custome made dagger from my late freind Eduard Bradichansky
who desighned the spyderco SHABARIA and SPYDERCARD and got killed by terrorists 2 years ago.

scorpio.

I have two. One is my grandpa's pen knife that my grandma gave me when he passed away. It has a plastic handle and two small pen blades. The other is a gent knife that my girlfriend gave me for my birthday. It looks like a buck gent and is engraved. I wouldn't give up either knife for anything.

1. Grandfather's Hammer Brand Equal End 2-blade. Solid, sharp, pretty, and priceless to me.

2. Barry Wood/Mike Irie Swing Lock w/ mirror polished modified drop point, black linen micarta scales.

A 1948 knife that belonged to my father. Don't know what it is,don't even know what is it's quality (altough it takes a shaving sharp edge and it keeps it reasonably),but it doesn't matter. My father is no longer with me, his knife is.i can't stand the idea of loosing it , so i usually don't carry it around very much, except for some days of the year. At Christmas, new year's eve, his birthday and my birthday, it finds a nice, warm place in my pocket.

Buck 105. I've had it for 22 years.

Ralph Dewy Harris. If you've ever had the pleasure to meet/talk to the man you know what I mean.

This is the knife that I will never, ever part with. This Randall Model #14 was given to me by my father hours before my departure to the Persian Gulf.

The pic would help.

Let's try this again!

I have a Schrade Uncle Henry given to me at Christmas probably 6 years ago from a good friend who married my wifes cousin. They have since seperated and I havent seen him for a few years but he was a very good friend. But what really makes it special is the fact that I let my dad use it to gut his deer each year on Manitoulin Island when we hunt there and this year I shot a huge 12 point buck and he helped me gut the deer and we used the afformentioned knife. I will keep it forever.:)

USING: The Pronghorn I bought from Ed Fowler at last Oregon Show. A real beauty.

NON-USER: The Damascus Art Dagger submitted by Audra Draper for her MasterSmith's test. As most of you - more likely ALL of you know - Audra went on to become the ABS's first female MasterSmith. Very lucky to be the present owner of this fantastic piece, as well as several more. :D

Most prized, well the one I most prize is my William Henry Carbon Fiber Lancet, must be cause I am never without it! BUT my Most Prized knife to date would have to be this little 4" bladed beauty here...very nice lines, solid lockup and just overall great! as many will note...it's not a wharncliff, but not to worry, I have that handled as one is on it's way by JW Smith as well, with CPM420V blade and also desert Ironwood scales, a mate to this one?
