Your next SAK?

Guyon,
Nice steal! I've had my eye out for both the Outrider and the Huntsman for some time now. Still can't decide if I want to move up to the Huntsman Ruby Lite (it's a bit on the bigger side of what I like). Also been interested in the Wenger Evo 18, but not interested in the price upwards of $60 most places). And a Vic Compact is also on my short list.

If you live anywhere near a Dick's Sporting Goods store, they have the Evo 18 for $39.99.

Felinevet has them for $35.50, and most of his prices include shipping. Here it is http://felinevet.sosakonline.com/in...a02f23a83c7df4d4b&option=com_phpshop&Itemid=1 you would need to check with him to make sure shipping is included, but even if it isn't I bet it would only be $2-$3 from Tim. Unlike everyone else on the planet he only charges what it actually costs him to ship an item. When he charges at all!!

Check ebay. I've seen Huntsmans there for 20-30$, Outriders 30-40$, Evo 18's 30-40$.
Try sellers Felinevet or JagrFanNJ Collectibles and Watches.

There are lots of used Saks on ebay as well.

My local dealer has a few of the Victorinox Rogues, and he says for 15 bucks one can be mine. I believe the Rogue is no longer produced. It is basically a Classic SD with a bottle opener. A small knife, but good to use at times when you would not want to whip out some large tactical folder and scare all the sheeple.

You can stil get new Rogues. Also, contact Felinevet, he has a brand new Rogue for $8 shipped!!! How's that. It is #32 on this page http://felinevet.sosakonline.com/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1 just scroll down until you see it. It is listed in amongst his used knives as he sometimes gets some NIB trade-ins and what not. He also has several Excellent condition used Rogues on that same list for $6 in an assortment of colors. Shipping is included in all of those prices. As a matter of fact, most of us who buy from him regularly add on an extra $1 to our Paypal purchases to help with his Non-Profit Charity.

Even if he doesn't have something that you are looking for listed, send him an E-mail. There is a good chance he has it but hasn't had time to put it on the website yet.

I am in no way affiliated with FELINEVET, nor do I get anything referring people to him. He is just a great guy, and an incredible person to do business with...FAST shipping and GREAT service!!!

Note To Mods: If I have crossed the line by linking to FelineVet, please let me know and I will modify my post accordingly, as I would never knowingly violate BladeForums policy.

I agree with the opinions on the Vic Rogue and on FelineVet.

The Rogue is my favorite Vic 58mm SAK. The blade placement relative to key ring is what I consider to be the most logical, and the other tools are all great. The only smallish SAK that I prefer to the Rogue is the Wenger Pocket Tool Chest. At 64mm it's a tad bit larger but it adds a couple of other VERY useful tools.

FelineVet is simply my number one go-to guy for SAKs. I will always check with him before going anywhere else. His prices are terrific, his service is excellent, he's a genuinely nice guy and all the profits go to a charity that provides free vet service to cat owners who cannot afford to pay for their kitties' medical care. Everyone wins! :D

Outrider and Huntsman on the way!

Also, my wife has a Camper, Spartan, and a WorkChamp (which she prefers to a Leatherman).

Just pulled the trigger on a Compact and an Outrider thru Amazon. Went back and forth a bit between the Outrider, the Hercules, and the Huntsman lite. I just decided I don't use pliers as much in the backcountry as I thought I would, and that's where this tool will be used primarily.

Congrats. You can't beat that $10 off deal with free shipping (and no tax).

Cool! Sweet deal.
unfortunately amazon.com won't sell to Canadians and amazon.ca doesn't sell anything other than books/dvds/games.
:grumpy:

Guyon - Is that "matte" finish on the spartan? How do you like it compared to the usual plastic?

Just picked up a red Victorinox Classic SD. Actually, it's for my wife to carry in her purse. This week, the school where she teaches had a power failure so she got to use the Photon Micro Light II I bought her a few weeks ago. With that example in mind it was easier to convince her to carry the SAK, just in case.

That's great, Dave_M. I swear, if I see another passerby at a train station or whatnot using a CELL PHONE to light up a train line poster... :grumpy:

(Or gnawing through packing tape like a rat, or... :p)

It's fine. Not a giant difference between it and the glossy. It's the same plastic as on the Rucksack. I think I picked up that Spartan at a T.J. Max (discount clothing store) actually. From time to time, they have some decent gadgets and gear on sale. Just the other day, I bought a Leatherman folding knife there for $16. I also saw a bunch of Leatherman PST IIs for $40. I'm thinking of going back and getting one.

Guyon, You really need to get a Soilder too!

Hate to add to your want list but it's a classic and I've carried one almost every day since 2000.

How do you like the farmer?

My next SAK will probably be a black Alox Pioneer or a yellow plain edge OHT.

Anyone know where I can buy the plain edge OHT?
