Hey Guys!
I am wanting to purchase another Sebenza. I purchased my first Chris Reeve knife about a week ago, a small Sebenza 21, and already feeling the addiction, I have to get a large 21. Well, the only online retailer that seems to have any decent selection of Chris Reeve Knives right now is Edged Specialties (http://www.edgedspecialties.com) From what I have read on this forum alone, Travis seems like a very stand up guy and most if not all seem to give good feedback for this Travis and his company. I am very particular about who I do business with and want the companies who treat their customers well (which unfortunately as we know is not everyone) to my get business. I just wanted to get some more feedback on Edged Specialties from the Chris Reeve guys. I also think it's is very cool that Travis only deals Chris Reeve knives and Mad Dog (don't know much about them).
Being that my small Sebenza 21 was my first Chris Reeve knife purchased about a week ago, or high end knife for that matter, I didn't know what to expect when I got it having never handled one. I tend to get really excited about purchases like this and it was a bit overwhelming at first but throughout this last week I have really come to appreciate the quality that goes into these knives. Taking this knife apart is just as exciting to me as using and looking at it. When it comes to buying anything, I am very particular and I can usually find something in everything I buy that does not satisfy me. I purchased a few $180 + knifes from some very reputable companies that I will not name and almost all of them had either blade play, non-centered blades, etc. I got very discouraged and almost came to the conclusion that there was not a knife that met my almost impossible standards. After vigorously researching Reeve knives, Sebenza's in particular, I was certain I found my grail.
It sucks because I live in Indianapolis and other than the occasional gun and knife show, there are no knife stores, and even sporting good places and gun shops have extremely limited selections so I am not able to handle anything I want to buy online. So I bit the bullet and purchased a new small Sebenza 21. I can honestly say that there is not one flaw in this design. I understand that for a lot people, myself included, that $400 is a lot of money for a knife, but for anyone who is wanting to buy their first Reeve knife, and can't make up your mind, DO IT. You will be so happy you did.
