Your opinion on two knives I am debating on

You’ll like it then. It’s a very nice knife.
I just want the D2. Had Cold Streel offered a steel past AUS 8 for the price range that would have been my choice. Love their locks.
I carry this one for work, including landscaping.

It rattles, has blade play and is in your price range. I bought it for rehab exercise for a thumb injury...years and 100s of bags of happy frog, perlite, manure ect. Later and it's still flicking like a champ. I drilled out the fake lube holes in the butt...few drops of oil once in a while and no worries. Comes apart easy if need be.
Who makes that? I like that just for EDC and the looks of it.

That is really nice. Who makes that? I want to buy one just for the hell of it.

Yeah, D2 is great in my view. I didn’t really love it until I got some diamond stones, and then... I got the Avispa in AUS8, but D2 would be far better. I use it at work for breaking down boxes and it lives in one of my desk drawers. It’s an elegant knife with a very pleasing FFG. Let us know how you get on with it!

Lighting is the mfg I think....its a made in Taiwan microtech scarab clone, a poor one at that except the internals are excellent. Blade is not too shabby either I think it's 440c.

I edc that one and have for 3 years along with some kind of folder for food duty. Flick, open mulch bag, flick, dump...repeat. all one handed and I often leave it in my hand to work.

Pwrsonally, I prefer the handle on my Rat 1 over my Avispa. The Avispa's handle is too thin for me, and the weak point is my hand, not the knife. In case you were wondering, the Avispa blade doesn't fit on the Rat 1, and vice versa.

For smaller/lighter duty, I prefer the Zancudo over the Rat 2 for the handle shape, but the Rat 2 is a little more comfortable for hard cuts because the handle is also thicker.

Personally I prefer the Buck 110 (including the LT) and 112 to both, but I like thicker handled knives anyway.
