I always looked at a lot of knives out there and said "Gee this would be perfect if..." and then rattled like 6 things off :p Any one else do this (with spydercos obviously as this is the forum). Here's mine:
Model: Civilian
Perfect Changes:Waved, DLC coated blade, PE, "Coyote brown" G10 handle scales over titanium liners, "ball lock" (or whatever they call it, i think of it as a bolt style), and 4 position clip, stronger tip

Any one else have their own wish list of mods to an existing model?

Oh, boy do I! I am never 100% satisfied with any knife. If I were able to make all the changes on every knife I wanted, I would still not be happy. The fact is, I want more than is possible and I think I am not alone.

I want the knife to be large enough to cut a tree down but small enough to carry clipped to my slik boxers without knowing it is there.

I want it to be made of the best materials money can buy but I only want to pay $20.00 for it.

I want it to never dull but if it does, I want to be able to put an edge on it in no time.

Seriously, if I could make changes to one knife, it would probably be the old C54 Calypso (the large one) because I feel it is about as close to perfect as you can get. I would want it to be carbon fiber with ZDP-189 or S30V steel, liner lock and have skeletonized titanium liners. You could keep everything else the same. In fact, I would be happy if they just made it in CF or G-10 and added some liners. To tell the truth the only real drawback to this knife is that it is not as strong as some and a set of liners would go a long way towards making it a great EDC.

Great points and even better avatar!!

BM 710 with a flipper. Yeah, I'm a heretic... whatever...
; )

Rukus with a titanium framelock built to the quality that the Skirmish is.

Wegner Pro Hunter with a 4.5 inch blade, no serrations near the blade tip and a solid backspacer like the 710 has.

The great old AFCK but with a full flat grind.

The Lone Wolf T2 with a better guard against slipping up on the blade.

Manix. Thicker tip and liners ( tip like a E4 liners like a 710). Lose the finger choil give me half an inch more blade on the blade. Ok while I'm dreaming lose the 9 screw holes I don't use.

I'd like to move the liner lock on... well... any liner lock knife over to the other side of the handle.

Yes I have. The FRN Dragonfly, a great knife but a clip I just can't take. Also
a 3/16" extention to the handle. Then add some G11, there you have it.

Police Model with a four-way clip, waved, with traction grooves on the blade spine just behind the wave, and at critical contact points of the handle. I thought about a G10 handle, but the SS is so slim and slick-opening, I couldn't change that. Bring back the lanyard hole for it.

Hell, while we're at it, make the blade another inch longer!

CF Military with full backspacer, (dual) titanium liners, premium blade steel for $20.

Wait, better not, it would be so good I would buy too MANY (and some more).
