Daniel Winkler hunter (4.75 inch blade). Damascus and fossil walrus ivory, with decorated sheath by Karen Shook. File work all along the spine. An outstanding example of use of materials and craftsmanship.

The PJ Tomes 3 inch pearl handled front-lock folder with a 420V blade in my pocket is Really my knife of the year, because I bought it to carry and enjoy and use everyday. And because it is almost perfectly crafted. But I do not yet have a picture.

I'm hoping Santa brings me a digital camera this year. I have other nice new toys to show off as well. My new fileworked Winkler damascus friction folder is stunning. And I managed to Steal a Warenski skinner from Les Robertson this year when he wasn't paying attention.

But then, Ed Caffrey's Mastersmith Test Hunter stands out as well. I love that knife too as an almost perfect example of functional art that is simple but elegant, with form following function, and outstanding craftsmanship, understanding and skill. Thanks Ed!

Darrel Ralph small, sculpted Apogee is in first place by a mile or two. Picking a runner-up from among the various purchases would be much, much tougher.

Let no one ever from henceforth say one word in any way countenancing war. It is dangerous even to speak of how here and there the individual may gain some hardship of soul by it. For war is hell, and those who institute it are criminals. Siegfried Loraine Sassoon

Its a real hard choice, but I say the MT LCC D/A. It's a heck of alot of knife for the price and it is sure to set a new benchmark for high-end production folders.

I have to go with my GenO Denning GM Hunter with stag scales. It is one great looking knife and works great too!

I'm not sure if it is the Spyderco Military or the REKAT Carnivore. I love them both! Tough decision.

My favorite knife of the year is a Kit Carson M16 A1 that I don't even have yet. Why? Because I can dream of what is to come.

My personal knife of the year is my Terzoula ATCF in G-10, it is a real custon gem. Imagine an even better Starmate! My choice for production knife of the year is the MT LCC; it is maximum bang for the buck.

Like phatch said "BM 940 in blue". Instant favorite. Great little user that performs well, and looks awesome doing it.

Seems a lot of folks think their LCC is the tops. I'm seriously thinking about selling mine. The finish and fit are wonderful but the knife itself is awkward, slippery to hold and frankly, a little on the ugly side IMO.

My vote goes to the SERE 2000 hands down. Excellent ergonomics, action and looks. I haven't found another that can nudge this one out of my pocket for everyday carry.
