I was sitting at my work bench the other day and looked up at my trusty "Shop Knife" it was a failed attempt at a design that made it through HT and turned into my Sandpaper cutting, gunk scraping, Package opening knife.

BEFORE:

I decided that it saw enough use that it could use a facelift, Scrap Ironwood, Pins...

AFTER:

I would love to see your Shop Knives, Before or After!

Shop knife...needed something for scraping kydex edges n stuff as well as EDC since I run errands from the shop. No one would fault me for a 1.2" blade but it is 3 inches from tip to the stingray and epoxied cord handle.......

I just use my 9th (my personal) Balisong.

That's a hell of a facelift buddy!! Looks so nice now. Hmmmm, wonder if my shop knife is worth saving :D I actually have two, both of them knives that didn't make the cut but work great in the shop. Lately their main job has been trimming paper around the edge of the disc sander.

This one I decided to use as my shop knife.
I didn’t like the way the bevels came out so I decided to use and abuse it to see how I like the steel, shape and size.
Bocote, blackwood and brass. 3,5inch blade

Nice Broe, Charlie...

Jonny You are supposed to put up some photos, I bet they are Purdy.

Hengelo. I really like that handle, you put a bit of time into that shop knife.

Nice knives guys!

I have one just like this in 52100 steel, I use it a lot in the shop. It is especially great for scoring kydex.

Cool Daniel. Looks like Dashi's are the go to design for Kydex work!

Thanks Ryan, yours is outstanding!

It is great for kydex, it is very heavy duty and cuts deeply. I'm about to go use it here in a minute, I have lots of sheaths to mold!

I'd like to make a leatherwork knife for my wife, that would be a fun project.

This is one of my first forged knives that gets used and abused every day in my shop. I cut sandpaper, scrape glue, cut wire, etc. which is OK because I know a knife maker who does an passable job of sharpening.

Not a knife maker here, my shop is more of a mechanic's shop. I threw a Kershaw Scamp in my tool box as my knife to take a beating and get messy. I am not particularly fond of the knife and see it more of a backup or dirty job knife, but definitely believe in having a "shop knife" and a backup knife in my car should I forget to grab one in the morning.

Nothing better at cutting sting ray skin and every other cutting task in the shop.

I use this knife everyday. It opens paint cans, cut leather, sharpens pencils, scrapes glue/wax, opens boxes, yaddah-yaddah...

S7 steel (the only piece I've ever bought.)
Duct tape handle wrap
Blood, sweat, oil and wax patina

It doesn't have a sheath because I just stick it into the wall beside me.

Rick,

I love the thin titanium wrapped handle.
