Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2. 3lb 6oz manufacturer listed trail weight. When the girl and I go camping this is where we sleep. When it's just me I take a hammock and tarp.

MSR Hubba HP, 3 season, Minimum Weight 2 lbs 9 oz / 1160 g, rainfly with footprint weight 1 lbs 15 oz/870 g

Big Agnes Seedhouse 1 - Recommend

Sierra Designs Meteor Light - Recommend

Mountain Hardwear Alcove 3 - Don't recommend

All these tents will keep you dry, but the Alcove 3 has a goofy vestibule that needs to be guyed out, and is not user friendly to set up in the dark.

Clark's jungle hammock, tropical.
2 lbs 8 oz
$250

I can't see sleeping on the ground here in the tropics.....or anywhere else for that matter.

Ozark Trail :o

Don't recall name

Weight: at least 3.8 tons...:barf:

Seriously though...it's heavy and will be replaced by a bivy as soon as money allows.

Kelty Gunnison 2: 4 lbs., 14 oz.

The two doors, twin vestibules make it a little heavy, but are worth it to me. I use it more for motorcycle camping than backpacking anyway.

For family car camping I have a Eureka Timberline 4 XT: 9 lbs.

We've decided, after several years, that we don't like it. The A-frame sides are claustraphobic, and the door zippers are awkward.

Somewhere I have a Slumberjack bivy shelter. It's the size of a bread loaf when packed, and weighs about 2 lbs.

Eureka Backcountry 1.
3lbs 14oz.

Good tent
Free standing - big plus for me.
No vestibule - not a major issue, as I can fit myself and my pack in the tent
with no problem. I am 6'3".
The rain fly does not cover the whole tent. I have never been really stuck in
super heavy rain so I cannot say it will leak, but it just seems like it might be
a problem to me.
The floor wraps up probably 1/4 of the way up the wall. I think this is a nice idea, to help keep any water out.
size - about the size of a shoebox.

Marmot Limelight, two-person. Weights almost 5 pounds, which is a bit on the heavy side, but it seems to stand up to some of the interesting weather very well. Usually use it myself, though, so I like having the room to bring my pack and things inside the tent with me for the night. No pictures of it, yet. Might grab a few tonight, thinking about doing an overnighter.

Hilleberg Nallo 2. Nallo is the name of a mountain near Kebnekaise, Sweden's highest mountain. I actually hiked past mountain Nallo on a one-week bare-bones hiking trip from Nikkaluokta to Abisko, in 1991. Had to take food for a week with me. One of the greatest times I've had outdoors!

Every Hilleberg is made by one man or woman, who also raise "their" tent after production to check if everything is OK. Mine is made by Pia Jarhede and she did a fine job. It withstood torrential rain and storms; it bent, bent further, but always sprang back and never broke. It does begin to sweat a little during rain so I'll have to impregnate the seams. Weighs around 2 kgs.
Mine is the old tunnel-version, the newer one is a tunnel still bit slightly raised on one side.

1999 model Sierra Designs Flashlight 3 lbs. 14 oz. according to the manufacturer.

DWK2, I really like your tent after seeing it. It's plenty of tent for such a low weight.

Thanks Ray. So far, so good with it.

I had an original Flashlight from ancient times and it was a sturdy tent. In the early '90s they put out a breathable single-layer version of the Flashlight that weighed 2 lbs 15 oz. on my postal scale. The zipper on mine has failed but I still have it. I used it on a couple Yukon/Alaska wilderness canoe trips and it was a decent little tent.

Mountain Hardware 3-person 3-season. About 6lbs and I think I paid $120 or there abouts. I'd buy a light solo if I had the cash.

Golite Hex 3,

canopy, nest, stakes, lines, stuff sack 4lb 12oz
canopy, lines, stakes, stuff sack 2lb 4oz

Four season with enough size for two and gear. Backpacking I just use hiking sticks for the center pole. I liked it enough that when this orange one I had was stolen I bought another one...but in green.
