I was browsing through the catalog and this appears to be the list of all Spyderco knives under 3 inches:

Yojimbo
Tasman Salt
Spin
Poliwog
Persian
Navigator II
Lava
Harpy
Dragonfly
Delica
Cricket

And Byrd knives under 3 inches:
Starling
Robin
Finch
Crow

Being a Spyderco newbie, and not yet having handled many different Spyderco models, could you give me your thoughts, experiences, etc. on any one or more of those knives you may have handled or owned?

Thanks.

Forgot the Caly Jr. It is an awesome knife with ZDP steel. I love their smaller blades. I wish they made more of them.

Swick fixed blade: I carry one of these in warmer weather on my belt when I'm not as bundled up. Small, sharp, good steel, I like it.

Spyderco knives in general are great for the $$. If you like a smaller blade, Spydie is the way to go. It's up to you and your planned usage as to what knife is best for you. Consider buying two. What I mean to say is that you will be impressed, but Spyderco's designs are somewhat "dedicated". I personally like to carry a Delica 4 (in ZDP-189 plain edge) And a Native with the spyder edge.

The cost of these two is VERY affordable, and it gives a good feel of what Spydercos smaller blades are all about.

Fair warning: Spyderco's are an addiction. You will want to try all of them after using any one of them. Start saving for the "Para" now!!!!

i really like the Cricket, but i haven't really used it much yet. i'm kinda using it as a money clip. it's small and feels solid, but i don't know how comfortable it would be cutting anything for any kind of extended duration

the Delica is THE classic Spyderco. feels very comfortable in my hand, and also feels pretty hefty and solid compared to what i expected. i'd suggest this knife to anyone new to Spyderco or decent folders

Don't forget the "S". I just got one. It is about a 2 1/2" blade that is more usefull that you might think. It is a leaf shape that is very light. You won't notice this one in your pocket.

Hey waita sec... you guys are mentioning some knives that I didn't see listed in Spyderco's online list.

How many knives did I miss?

I don't see the Kiwi or the Kopa on there.

Are you looking for a smallish knife? If so, what are your needs? Office carry, deep woods, zombie fighting? :)
