Your thoughts on the schrade schf9

It's a massive beast of a knife. It's an insanely solid built knife, capable of enduring the worst abuse, I could ever imagine putting a knife through. The handle is LARGE, but fits perfectly in my hand (I'm 6'2 and 285 lbs). My wife has a hard time grabbing it, let alone use it for anything meaningful. The blade is nicely recurved and is so thick it's thick again! It was ok sharp out of the box, but with a little work I got a nice edge to it. Be aware: do not expect to do anything super fine with this knife - it would be like picking your teeth with a pitchfork! The only thing I'm not too fond of is the sheath - it's too flimsy to hold this beast. I'm contemplating finding a custom Kydex sheath-maker, to make me one.
$42 very well spent indeed.

Hey guys. I am newer to blade forums and i was wondering on all of your intakes on the scrade schf9. I personally like it and just ordered it. It will be in in about a week. Thanks.

I have a problem with the company stealing a design from CRK, but to be objective I have HEARD (Disclaimer) they make good knives at the price point they operate at.

I have one of the other Schrade SCH series knives. It's been good to me. I've heard alot of good things about the blade you ordered. I suspect you'll be pleased. First rule of Bladeforums: if you like the knife, ignore the naysayers. Just enjoy what you have if it works for you.

Feedback please. And we here are simple folks: we like pictures...

I have had the 9 for quite some time now and it as served me well. A friend of mine has reprofiled the edge so it is razor sharp and it will make fuzz sticks like nothing. It is an amazing chopper as well. The only problem is the sheath, I am going to start a leather sheath for it soon. I am very glad that I made the choice to purchase it. Thank you for all of your tips so far and I might post some pics of my custom knife made by Dave Williams from survival hardware llc. Happy new year everyone.
