Your thoughts on this blade

Thank you. I’m learning to ignore certain individuals here!
Sure thing!

I like the design! Looks like a very comfortable handle.

One suggestion: On micarta-type scales with alternating and contrasting colors, I appreciate when a maker matches both scales by using the layers as a “topographic map” of sorts. If the contour lines on each side match, then the contours are the same on each scale. In fact, it’s much easier to get the scales to match by paying attention to these lines while grinding.

I think this is beneficial for both aesthetics and feel…

I like the straight spine and the generous belly. The playful choice of scales is a nice touch too.

Just my two cents, but I personally prefer a straight edge on the ricasso area, where the blade edge meets the handle. Sharpening choil would be nice too. Hope to see more designs, man.

The scales were cut from a sheet. I can probably hand sand them more to make them match up better. But with this being my knife. I’m not to worried about it. But thanks for that.

Well, you know you have a customer here!!!
Yes sir, and I appreciate that. I wasn’t trying to push anyone away in that thread, I just weighed in with my thoughts, and I got a lot of flak for it! And then of all things he came over here to this thread to bash my work! That’s pretty childish! I probably shouldn’t have even responded. But I was pretty annoyed! I’m a hobby knife maker, I have a full time job that I spend a lot of hours at, then I’m a single father. So I usually get time in my shop two weekends a month if even! My end goal is to get more time making knives, and work on some fit and finish. Currently I’ve been working on dialing in my heat treat on certain alloys. That’s been my primary goal.
I build a blade, experiment on my heat treat and test it myself! But hopefully soon enough I’ll get more time to start making more knives! I got into blades years ago, and found out about busse. Been kinda following that idea since. I used to see my dad beat his old buck knives pretty hard in the field as a kid, he was a marine, and he’s always been hard on things. I’ve seen my share of knives fail. So I’ve been stuck on this whole toughness thing for a while. But I felt I can improve on the cutting ability of a tough knife! So that’s what I follow. I make tough tools that work well. I don’t spend as much time on fancy handle materials, I use reliable materials, g-10, micarta and terotuf for most my handles.
