1. Byrd Cara Cara G10 PE. Just got better with the updated version. Been a fan since the original that was thick and heavy. Can't do better for a budget modern folder IMO.

2. Leatherman Micra. Always have it with me, very handy.

3. Army surplus machetes. These cheap machetes are fun and you can beat them to hell @ 5$ a pop and not care what happens to them.

Bought the two classic Mora's in the picture below for about 5 euros each, new in a sports shop. The one on the left served me well during several camping trips, for me it's an excellent camp knife.

For pocket knives, IMO the alox series of Victorinox are best bang for the buck.

For a folding knife, I think Opinels are excellent, but my Kershaw Skyline is great too. Also the EKA Swede 60 and Swede 88 are very good knives for little money.
