Hey folks! Been lurking, first post, great forum!
Most favored of the knives Ive got?
1 - SOG S36 Autoclip: nice and light, 2.6oz, like a BM940, but with for my uses a much better, much fuller zytel grip and amazingly-functional clip, plus a seriously defensive and useful blade. Almost went for a fatter, heavier Mini Rukus but find this almost-forgotten S36 to be far and away a better carry on anything including pajama bottoms!
2 - Opinal #8: Got several in constant use in the kitchen and dinning room because they cut like nothing else. Havent folded em in years!
3 - SOG Government:. I have as much fun as anybody lusting over big-name fixed blades from 3-25, but this medium-sizer is all I'll ever need in my outside world.
4 - Cold Steel Master Hunter: The ONE knife if I can carry only ONE for the dreaded Doomsday scenario. Superb grip. Presently with the small survival kit stashed in my wifes car.
5 - Benchmade 940: Pretty to look at, fun as hell to flick open and closed. Mostly fills my need to fondle these days.
6 - Hoffritz 6 Utility: Got bigger and more expensive kitchen knives but this is the boy that comes out of the block for almost everything.
7,8 - 7 and 13 Solingen serrated: often used for veggies and bread respectively.
That does it. Im no collector (yet). Final comment: The S36 is fully serrated. Never thought I'd like that, but time has won me over. Satisfactory as serrations have proven to be from a utility standpoint, the main 'plus' is I feel more 'tactically' equipped to defend myself with serrations. May not be, but my head feels better about it.
