Your Top 5 Spyderco Folders made at the Taichung plant

Only own(ed) four but they have all been excellent. Need to pick up a Southard next.

I have or have had only a small number of Taichung models, including the Southard, Gayle Bradley, Techno, Domino and a couple of Sages.

To order my favorites, I'd put them like this:

1. Southard

Got my Sage 1 today. Loving it so far. I'm used to having spyderco's with a back lock, but I like the ease which I can close the liner lock with one hand.
 
so many good choices...must...resist...buying...them...all...
(resistance is probably futile; I know I will give in to the temptation)
 
I currently have 3. The GB, the Southard, and the Tuff. I'm a dyed in the wool Millie fanatic (like y'all didn't know :-) ). That said, these three are pretty darn awesome. If the Southard was bigger, say Millie size, it would be my all time, bar none, favorite knife. The Tuff seem to be living up to its name so far. All great knives. As stated earlier, many are to me at least, mid tech level.

  3. Southard CF/G10 Laminate
  4. Southard Black Blade & Black G10 (coming in 2014)
  5. Southard Mini with 3" exact blade (just no brown G10 please)

Earlier in this thread I said I was getting the Sage 2. Went with the Techno instead. Also own the Sage 1. Both are amazing.

When can we get a CF or titanium PM2 from Taichung!? :thumbup:
 
I know people will want to take my life away from me for what I'm about to say but I don't think I'll ever buy a Spyderco. Was thinking of buying the resiliance and than got a CS Recon 1 that i'm very happy with( actually got two my clip point I got barely used for $7) with and was thinking about Manix 2 xl but got a benchmade adamas instead. Really thought about getting Manix Xl 2 but just don't think it would be better than BM Adamas. Got the adamas for $129 with free shipping and the Manix 2 Xl could have got for $95 just don't really like the design of Syderco's. Might buy a Spyderco Military but besides that nothing I wnat from spyderco over other blades. Not Saying their bad at all though just don't their design.
 
Have you held and used one? That's what makes spyderco

I know a lot of people like the cs recon, but they feel cheap to me

Start with a tenacious for $35 and see how you feel with their least expensive offering. Then try and imagine how amazing their primo offerings from Taichung could be. Just remember that there is no turning back; it will be an expensive and joyous journey in the years to come.

If you're married, start buying your wife some expensive purses every now and again, it will prevent future arguments; trust me.

If you want to compare Spyderco with Cold Steel and Benchmade you should probably do it in the General Discussions forum.

Plus you say you don't like Spyderco designs so why even post in the Spyderco forum and specifically in a thread about Spydercos from the Taichung factory!
