Your VERY FIRST pocket knife?

First was ~ 35 years ago, and I was 9 or 10. Was a Victronox SAK of some sort (had a fish inlaid into the red scales - about all I remember) probably comparable to a Huntsman or Fieldmaster or Camper.

That thing saw a lot of use. Lived in my back pocket till I was 13 or 14. It's now lost to time and probably the woods behind my mother's house.

My first was a Kamp King that I got at age 12 and was my only pocket knife for the next 15 years. It was used and abused without mercy, including games of "stretch" when I was still that age, and for all manner of both proper and inappropriate purposes. I was ignorant of knife maintenance, the blade was rarely sharpened and the tip broken off. It was a constant companion in the Army, where I preferred it to the GI issue "demo" knife, and was with me until one day I impulsively gave it to a girl friend who was leaving town for good. Ten years later, I ran into her again. While reminiscing, I asked her what had become of the Kamp King. Turns out that days later, she had "lost" it (can't say I blame her, it was a mite tatty by then.)

Like most of us who have posted here, I can't provide pix of something I no longer have, but not long ago, a friend who knew my KK story found one at a yard sale. It was in great condition, so he paid $1 for it and passed it on to me. Usually, it resides in a box of seldom used things, but because of this thread, is in my pocket now.
It's been a sweet nostalgia trip, but I've gotta tell you, you can't go back.

Still got her from 1974...

My first pocket knife was the standard Cubs Scouts pocket knife in the early 60's. It was considered part of the Cub Scout uniform which we wore to school for monthly Pack Meeting in auditorium after school. Part of the Cub Scout curriculum was knife safety and whittling. No complaints or issues. Different days :)
