Your weirdest Damascus or San-Mai mix

Wondering what's the weirdest steel aloy mix you have forge welded togather. I seam to be abscessed with mixing things that are on the verge of crazy to consider. Tonight I could not stop my self and tryied somthing that I have been wondering for a long time. D2 can it be forge welded or not and to step it up to my level of crazy I thought I would try and forge weld it to 303 stainless. Well everything was rather uneventful and seamed to work fine. I used my W2/303SS test coupon to test the D2. I ground the 303 and D2. Stacked and welded around the 2 layers and heated to 2300° and welded. Here is the result, bottom layer is W2, middle layer is 303SS and top layer is D2. The weld is perfect with no sign of anything but a solid weld.
