This Michael Cassidy fellow who runs "yourcornerstore.com" has got to have some of the worst customer service training and manners that I've seen on-line - Almost as bad as Botach Tactical in Los Angeles! And that's pretty foul! Sorry about runnig this as a first Post, but I've just had almost $200 in effect confiscated by him/them, and I'm ticked off! Long time reader, lurker, longer-time fine combat and survival knife fan. Thanks for letting me vent....

Michael,

What about my questions, my request? No response still?? Let's try to act like adults here - You & your Reps are not playing straight with me. Let's go over this from the beginning, okay?

On August 12th 2009, I wrote to your Customer Service E-mail *and* left a voice-mail message with your Customer Service line six hours after I placed an on-line order for two knives, requesting nicely that you CANCEL THE ORDER AND REFUND BACK TO MY CREDIT CARD since I needed to source these things locally instead. The following day, I received a phone-call back from a lady who informed me that it was too late to cancel, that the knives HAD BEEN SHIPPED OUT ALREADY, and that I might refuse their delivery if I wanted to return the merchandise. That was all a lie! At the time of the return call there was plenty of time to cancel the order right then and there if your Representative wanted to. Instead what happened was that the Order was NOT SHIPPED, but charged to my Credit Card TWO DAYS LATER, and the knives back-ordered and my money confiscated. Quit being "coy". When will you begin to act honestly? You're in effect stealing my money, and you're not getting away with it. Your "delivery promise" time has been pushed from Aug 26th, to Sept 15, and now your latest time is Sept 30th. This is unacceptable, no deal, refund my money now back to my Credit Card. I'll be damned if yourcornerstore. com is going to jack me around for the next two, three, or six months on this.

All our correspondence is being retained for further use, I've had it. You're not getting away with pilfering my money like this.

Hi Hxxx,

I responded!

Here is the message again.

Your order has not shipped. Both knives are backordered.

Sincerely,
Michael Cassidy

> Why the non-response? This isn't going to win you any friends, you
> realize. Tough to build a business this way.

If seller is not willing to solve the matter, contact your bank and ask them for help.

I still have no response to my *many* E-mails requesting a refund. It seems it's either "hit-or-miss" with the clown at 'yourcornerstore.com', but they certainly are NOT the only Knife Seller on the block - nobody can match them/Michael Cassidy for sheer arrogance and gall. I'd tried 'ycs.com' on a mention of them by Nothinfancy - I regret my experience completely. Nothinfancy, you're still okay in my book!

Yourcornerstore.com is nothing more than a drop-ship company. Backorders will be pretty common.

If you truly want a refund, I personally would just contact the CC & have them reverse the charges.

Good Customers shouldn't have to put up with abuse like this. *Still* have not been refunded to my CC, *still* no response to my vigorous E-mails. What do you think, is Michael "unclear" as to what I want?

I hope the problem is resolved soon, I have personaly not dealt with yourcornerstore.com before, but their prices are a tease sometimes, I ahve a short list of my regular companies I use and have been happy with for many years...Anyway sorry to hear of your bad expereince..

I've bought 3 knives from yourcornerstore.com and have friends that have dealt with them many times. My/Thier experiences with them have been just the opposite of yours. I've never even had to call and talk to anyone. I place the order and I receive it within 3 to 4 days. They've never screwed me around like you've been dealt with. If they don't have an item in stock, I don't order it. I'm sorry for the hassles you're dealing with. I can't figure out why people have such different experiences with this company.

Glad you're happy with ycs/Michael, but I *still* have not received either an adequate reply nor a refund per my request. This is going to cost "Them" far more than my single Order - I'm not going to let this go, but tell everyone with an ear who wants to listen. Directly lying to Customers, confiscating their money, and perpetually moving out delivery dates for weeks and weeks is NOT acceptable business practice.

That is why I use KNIFEWORKS.COM , they have the best customer service on the net in my eyes, and they always have everything in stock, they ship out fast and the items are only 2-5 dollars more than yourcornerstore.com, which I have also ordered from. Remember, you cannot put a price on customer service.

While you are doing all that, maybe you should check out this thread?

Worry about your own problems, before you begin to offer advise about other peoples problems.

I deal with people who I've only heard good about. One of the best business on the web is ran in ID. I consider Jeff a friend he always has what I need at great prices and fast shipping. Give him a try at www.cutleryshoppe.com

I'm sure you will have a great experience with Jeff. Also contact you CC and do a transaction reversal. I wish you the best of luck.

Then we both have a friend in common. I do not know a better person than Jeff in the knife business.

I had some shipping delay issues with yourcornerstore, but I was able to get the owner on the phone. They never responded to emails but once I got him on the phone he set things straight. Basically I would only order items from him if he shows a large quantity in stock otherwise you risk your order being held until stock arrives. Feels like a part time operation to me.

I'm learning the same thing Melbourne mentioned. Only order if they have a high quantity shown for stock. I just ordered 3 knives from them last weekend. One showed 2 in stock, and the other two each showed 10+. I was notified next day the 2 stock one went on backorder til 9/25. I found out kershawguy was selling the same knife here and had stock so I ordered from him and cancelled my backorder. YCS sent me notification I would be refunded for the cancelled knife. (was kinda surprised I was charged before they ever got stock to ship).

This morning I got notification one of the other knives is now backordered even though the previous status emails showed it in stock and pending shipment. (b/o date 10/15). I emailed them tonight to cancel that one too and confirm the third actually is in stock and when will it ship.

Hopefully my refunds will be prompt. Other stories in GBU have me concerned.

Just to update...

Received an email this morning that the second back ordered knife and the third knife shipped yesterday. Checked tracking and a package is indeed on the way. I'll make another update when it gets here.

The two knives arrived today. 5 days total from the day I ordered until they were in the mailbox. So all in all a good experience. Their stock levels aren't quite real time so low qty items may actually be out of stock but the shipping and Michael's e-mail responses were always prompt. The site is showing my refund for the one knife as being submitted. Just need to wait for their shopping cart vendor to process it.

Thanks Michael.

I ordered a backordered knife that kept getting pushed back so I tried to cancel it. First of all, they charge you even if they don't have the knife in stock, most good companies only charge you when they SHIP your item, not these guys. Second, I had to call 4 times before I got a refund. He kept saying he sent it to accounting or that he forgot and will figure it out. I must have sent 5 emails as well and didn't get any response on those. After the 4th call he finally did the refund.
