You win the internet!!

I have at one point or another tried the majority of Esee knives... Only the small Candiru i liked. The 3-4-5-6 didnt last long here. Even the izula felt like an expensive but cheaper BK14. I couldnt for the life of me figure out where all the hype comes from. I started thinking im just in the minority.

Esee knives taught me something though, they taught me that i could never solely go off of anything someone else said on the internet. Until i put my peanut butter covered fingers on a knife i learned i wouldnt know for sure if it was worth anything. People like different things and some people's hands are built differently. For instance warriors hands would dwarf mine and therefor he needs a larger handle all together, But i dont think thats whats going on with Esee either.... Maybe a little, but its hard to think thats all there is to it. Its hard for me to think some people just like uncomfortable...

A great knife needs ergonomical handles, without that it can never be more than just OK on its BEST day. No matter the steel, no matter the name on it, if its uncomfortable in the hand its pretty worthless as far as im concerned. I use knives hard. For hours at a time. If i cant use a knife for 20 minutes without it hurting my hand or just getting so uncomfortable i throw it to the side, it doesnt get to stay here with me.

I'll be honest I while the ergos on the Esees isn't as nice as the Beckers I do like my Esees quite a bit. I love my 3 a lot.

Done.

Side to side baby, side to side.

All my posts are interesting. Start anywhere you like. :D

Peanut butter in/on grits, rice, oatmeal, veggies, or beer is not unheard of in the house of The Peanut Butter King.
Have you done peanut butter with your chili?

ok so how about we discuss something interesting. . . How does one go about sharpening the chisel grind on the 3?

Same as any other chisel. Lap the grind side (flush with the main bevel like many people sharpen a Scandi, or flush with the secondary bevel) and strop or hone or steel the burr off the unground side. If you like, put a very slight micro-bevel on the unground side. Easy peasy!

The only ESEE I have tried is the Zancudo, and it seems to be a decent folder at a reasonable price. I've not tried any of the fixed blade knives, although I have contemplated a Junglas solely on Ethan's joking comment in a certain video done during one of their courses I believe. :D

For goodness sakes, don't take my word for it. Try 'em yourself. Obviously, I'm completely biased and not to be trusted. :D

We really need a smiley for this. If I knew a mod, I would get on that.

Ummm.... Can't help ya with a smiley; I'm not a mod here. You're on your own.

I've heard mixed reviews on the 3. I'm hoping to get one after Christmas, but I haven't used one yet so we'll see if I like it or not. Actually I don't think I've even held one

I just picked up an Esee3 with TKC G10 scales.
They are contoured a bit and extend past the pommel for a wider grip.
Not bad.
I've always liked the 3.

I like Ethans handle designs better. Most Esee's are generally uncomfortable in my hands.
The TKC handles help though.
And the 3 is just a darn handy size...

I think I'll etch "Terrio" on the blade and tell everyone it was a collaboration. :D

PB and chili? Hmmm. Havent done it, YET. But its always a possibility.

HAHAHAHA

First jimp the hell out if it!!

The JG3 looks like it may be a comfortable knife. Ill one day have to try one.

I feel that I need to make a knife review parody video....

Any ideas?

Jeremy

Whiskey. Lots of whiskey.

I love my 3. It is a super slicey li'l bugger, with a blade long enough to be usable and enough belly to make it fun to use. Mind you this is all MY interpretation and your's may vary. The handle does leave a lot to be desired. What I have done is added liners and then rounded the stock micarta handles.

Damn just heard from one of my buddies down under, things are crazy over there right now it seems. Hostage situations, possible bombs and gun carrying crazies. My thought and prayers to all my Australian buddies during this time. I hope for a quick resolution to this madness.

Imfortunamtly the only knife store we have here is Wally World, hopefully the next gunshow will have a 3 and/or laser strike

I think the United Cutlery partially serrated Tanto Bowie could be a Schrade killer.
