Crim- welcome to Texas!
Todd- congrats on all of your success! I hope I can get a Yuma from you at Bladeshow next year.
WW- Mini hawks are looking AWWWESOME!!!

I'm pretty certain Doug doesn't. He is "Critter" here on BladeForums...Cornerstone Founding Member of Knife Rights, founder of Equipped to Survive, collaborated with Ethan on the BK12 (RSK Mk2), collaborated with Benchmade on the RSK Mk1 (modified Griptilian), collaborated with Adventure Medical on their SOL line of gear, etc, etc... In my opinion, he's always been the most pragmatic and realistic of those in the "survival" industry. Actual useful advice for the types of emergencies (flood, hurricane, power outage, etc) that people might actually experience in their lifetimes, along with practical (i.e. effective, but not very exciting for TV) advice on being prepared to deal with them.

Nawwww.....

Doc

In other news, I'll be moving to San Antonio around May. My wife got accepted to her top choice residency, which was the USAF neurology residency at Fort Sam Houston.

Congrats! Be sure and read up on San Antonio's knife laws before you walk out of the house. They've got some pretty restrictive ones.

And congrats Todd and WW. Looks like I'm going to have to go magazine shopping.

Well I got a pretty cool email this morning. I got a message that I needed to proofread a article that my company is mentioned in so it can got to print. Well, I know in going to be in the spring issue of Self Reliance Illustrated and have been through all of those interviews and so forth so I automatically assumed thats what it was for. Well, turns out its something altogether different. Two years ago I sent out a Yuma that a writer wanted to do a review on. So, I sent him one and never heard from him again, so, I just wrote it off and figured that was that....... guess what, its just now done and going to print.
It will be in the spring issue of The New Pioneer magazine, and there doing a small knife shootout kind of thing. There putting it up against a Buck Vangaurd, Tops Viper Scout, Sperderco Bushcrafter, and a ESEE Izula II. Ought to be pretty cool. Check it out, it should be on the shelves Jan. 20th. Right next to my article in SRI at the same time.

Very cool Todd..

turns out due to new laws, a lot of micro-distillery, wineries, cideries, and meaderies have popped up in NH

including an outfit that makes a DAMN fine moonshine.

wow.

Congrats on the grinder Daizee! It's purdy.

Very cool about the upcoming article Todd!

Congratulations to your wife! And, of course, you...by extension (inclusion?).

Congrats Todd. Glad to hear you are getting the exposure and accolades you deserve.

Of course, you are aware that your proofreading needs some proofreading, right?
I'm glad someone said it....happy that it wasn't me.
Congrats, Todd. So presumably now that they're done testing they can send you back your Yuma, no?

Warrior, that is badass man, your son from what I've ever seen of him seems to be a pretty cool dude. I'm 40 years old. Not old by any means, but I do feel that I'm not capable of things I did when I was was younger. I was pretty hard on myself through my youthful years. But to see him in those pics, reminds me of a young man in his prime taking advantage of the things he loves and the things he's capable of....... its inspiring, good for him, you must be proud.

Thanks for the kind words about the magazine articles guys, I wish I could take full credit for it but I cannot. Like I said, the Yuma review is a very old one that probably didn't make the cut two years ago. If any of you guys know how magazines and writers work, they all are in cahoots. Granted I do have a upcoming feature coming up in SRI. But probably what happened is word got out in the publication world and one wanted to be up to par with the other so, the old article came about. Last time I was in tactical knife magazine, there was variations of that article in a couple other mags. id love to say its because I'm that talented, but realistically. I think this is common protocol.

However, one thing that I a excited about, I still cannot say to much about, but, if you guys are fans of reality survival shows, you may,or may,not be seeing some T.M.Hunt goodness on the big screen soon. This is the only place I've mentioned it. Who knows whats gonna end up on the editing floor. But keep your fingers crossed for me.

I will give more details when I can.

Made this little guy, 3" blade 6" overall with some natural micarta, finally got the real deal and I gotta say, this stuff is way easier to work than the stuff I was making. The sheath is a pocket sheath or a toss in a bag kinda sheath.

Nice pic. Do you know the location and the name and grade of the route?

I asked him, and he said, "It's by the black hole, in Morrison, Colorado. It's a 5:10...nothing too hard. It's called, "The Nautilus Cave Pitch"".
