Despite its limited daily chores use it's still the best fighter on the market I think also its curved blade will slice an opponents hand right open using a back cut or back slash.

Benchmade Bedlam Auto for me

+ extremely Long
+ Auto opening left or right handed
+ bashing glass breaker on end

Whatever I have on me! In reality, if someone pulls a knife on me, I've already entered into a situation that would warrant deadly force. I would likely be carrying something a little more defensive than a pocket knife, such as a 1911 in 45 ACP.

Turn the situation around on him and make him the fool that brought a knife to a gun fight...

Whatever Benchmade I happen to have. It is likely sharper, more reliable, and almost certainly in the hands of someone more familiar with knives. I just imagine that any idiot that would actually start a fight, especially with a knife, is likely carrying something he picked up in the knife store in the local mall for $15 dollars, has a dull blade, is slow to open, and is probably only carried for the purpose of trying to intimidate people.

Same here I don't always strap on my Glock 17 or 1911 or my P226 Combat when I go bike riding, hiking, or for a walk, but I never leave home without a Paramilitary 2, Or a Benchmade Bedlam or, a Microtech HALO, Something sharp.

This post gives me a headache. I have to say that as a cutting tool, may I never either be in a position to defend myself with one, or be subjected to someone that's decided to use one on me. As a choice, and If available, I am still fast for an older guy and would try to choose an alternative to either of the situations above. And never mind which model I would choose...I would be the first to forget what's In my pocket.

It seems a folder would not be as good as a choice as either the hawk which someone said or the marc lee glory. I wanna live!

It's true, but the most fixed "fighting knives" are discontinued. :(
For example BM155 fixed Presidio, BM158 CSK II...
Maybe SOCP Dagger would be suitable for this kind of task with expert level knife fighting skill... I don't know.
Otherwise prevention, evasion and running fast.
