I sometimes enter giveaways on YouTube for reputable companies or people I know.
Imagine my surprise when I got an email with a screenshot of my post and a note to message the above number to claim my prize knife.
The number was a What's App phone. I don't have What's App so I called the number and left a message. In less than a minute I had a text that confirmed I'd won a $ 350 knife. Next came please provide your full name, address, and a credit card to pay for shipping.
That's when I went back to the original YouTube vid and saw that there was nothing noted on my post. They had screenshot my post and then edited the post to make me a winner.
This is a warning to others who enter giveaways. Scammers have their ways to go for you even when the original giveaway is legit.
I'm not YouTube savvy enough to know how they got my email address..
