You email Yangdu on a DOTD and say I'll take it and she's shipped it before she replies back "done deal."

You email Yangdu on a DOTD and say I'll take it, and she doesn't even need to look up your address... she has pre-printed mailing labels for you.

You have HI listed as a direct deposit distribution on your paycheck.

During the height of intimacy you scream out the name of your favorite kami...

When you own three of the same model, same maker, same length and justify it because the weights are different.

How about you have a template eMail setup so you can shark the DOTD faster?

You have BIG kukri disease when you look at a monster kuk like an Ang Khola and decide not to buy it because "19.5 inches. . .too short."

It's a karma-building exercise. You're supposed to get one of each model in horn, one in antler and one in saatistal- from each kami.

If you're able to, you get one in each different wood- and weight. Only then, can you achieve khukurivana.

It gets challenging, because HI comes up with new models- and new kamis. So even after you achieve that blessed state of mind, you have to keep alert. Things like the antler-handled HI katar, or the horn falcata- glad I have that one- can prey on your mind. Did they make a 25" Malla? You need to know.*

This is in a sticky somewhere. I know I read it, long time ago- back when I had a house, a car and a checking account. :D

Come on Hiram,

They haven't named an anvil after you at the shop. That's when you know you've got too many khukuris: when they name an anvil after you, and dedicate it just to keeping you supplied.

LOL, Yangdu mentioned one of the kamis named their daughter Hiram... and she is 19, she didn't take to it well. :eek:

You can't wait for a storm to knock down a large limb! More to the point, when limbs do fall, you've got khuks enough for the entire family to help!

You've ever thought, "If I get more than one, I could leave one in the car, the office, the bathroom..."

You have ever used a HI model as a description for something else completely unrelated to knives.

You can smell blood on the forum from five miles away at around 2-3PM each day.

You have a khukuri matching every outfit in your closet.

You start looking down on knives that aren't blessed before leaving the factory.

I resemble thoughs. Was telling a story the other day and it just wasn't coming together so I got out Lisa (20" Sirupati) then things made sense.

Have logged in some mornings because I felt that there were some Deals posted and even if I couldn't buy them I needed to be first to post.

Oh yes... how I wish we Canuckistanis would see the like of the Great Ice Storm of '98 again! There was enough fallen maple wood to burn for years afterwards!
 
You scroll down on the DOTD and are able to name every model and sometimes even the Kami that made each blade BEFORE you get to the description.
 
You know you're broke, and you log onto the HI forums just to see the DOTD, and you eyes start tearing up when you see the photos, because you've got such fond memories of some of the models offered!

My wife teases me: "You maybe can't spells right & can't reads dem big words, but you sure likes lookin' at the purty pictures . . . !"
