Just bought a mini Zen off ebay and just put in an order for an Assassin "S" today with him. Not only a tough tank of a knife but a total work of art as well.. Here are a few pics of my new mini zen>>>

Is the knife comfortable with the blade is canted down so much when it's open? It really looks like a fantastic knife, and I can see a lot of the reasoning behind the design, I guess you're just not suppose to chop anything on a flat surface. Gorgeous knife!

First off Didn't Mean to Threadjack Mr. Clean and take away from his new Georgous Knife truely awesome score!!! ;)

Second I haven't even received my Zen yet still in the mail, Bought it Friday.. but after handleing my budies Yuna.. I am hooked for sure..

My new Assassin I ordered is going to be my Grail and most I have ever spent on a knife $1175... don't want to let the cat out of the bag but Yun and myself are very excited about the order...

Somber - knives with that type of canted angle are not good for cutting things on a flat surface but better for cutting in just about every other scenario compared to traditional straight up and down knives. Most folding knives kind of suck at cutting on a flat surface regardless, unless you have some thing with a huge belly or cant in opposite direction like the Kershaw Needs Work.

Absolutely. My main carry is a wharncliffe, so I completely understand the properties behind that Yuna. It presents the tip so easily, working with it would be fairly easy. With the blade how it is on that knife, your hand is almost behind the blade when you're cutting. It still looks like a fantastic knife and completely usable.

As for the OPs, this is a knife that I definitely could get behind. The grind on that is gorgeous and the profile is something that I really like. It is canted a little bit as well, so it put the belly in such a position that you could easily slice anything on a flat surface.

OP and Cowboy - Fantastic knives, I'm excited to get some more pictures and a review of both of them once you get it. Yuna is a knifemaker that I hope to own a folder from in the future.

Congrats on a sweet Yuna to both Mr. Clean and colocowboy55. Yuna is in my top three favorite makers and for good reason. The man creates extremely usable and tough masterpieces. That Mini Hard-2 looks pretty awesome Mr. Clean. I may have to stray away from the Hard-1 Fighter Blade on my next Yuna and get a Hard-2.

No worries! You gotta post pics of that!
Awesome. Can you give us the details on the options? Model? Color? Handle? etc.

Well originally, I ordered a large choil Hard -1. It's a carbon fiber bolster and it's supposed to be black/green symmetrical grooved g10 but it looks black and blue.

Then I saw a russian posting comparing a Spyderco Military with the Hard 1 and the Hard 1 was just as big! Too big for me! So I contacted Yun and had it changed. The resulting knife is:
Mini Hard 1
Small Choil
CF bolster
Black/green (blue?) grooved handle

Maybe a couple more, just cuz :D

That is definitely black and green G-10. In the black and blue G-10 the blue is really vibrant. At least that's from the different handles I've seen up close.

Did I mention that I really like that knife? :D

That is good to know! I've been worrying a bit...

Nope :D I appreciate that though, I value your opinion as you've got a few knives I'm a little envious of :D
