Yvsa's Scagel HSS...XYZ

Thanks for AM chuckle, Fausto.

Cherokee Rose has my vote. I could expound a litany of all the things that name can conjure up but won't.

..left that are big enough for that knife, Fausto (I hope:)), and if you run into a trout that big, set your drag anchor and pray

YCB. Yvsa's Cherokee Bowie.

Cherokee Scagel Special (that one's fun to say:D)

Yvsa's Scagel Bowie

Yvsa's Cherokee Scagel Bowie--YCSB.

Bowie Oh Bowie, this is getting crazy;)

Cherokee Rose is fine with me, although I have emailed a secret idea to the designer..HEE:D

and the worst yet---------THE CATOOSA GOOSEAHH(that's Gooser said with a Maine accent;))!!Sorry Yvsa, I couldn't resist that one:o:D
:p

This bowie puts Crocodile Dundee and his puny knife to shame, the only birds and trouts of the right size could be found in a remake of Jurassic park!

Bro, "Cherokee Rose" has connotations of both beauty and thorns - The name sings.
DO IT!!!

I like it. I think the knife will do honor to the Nation and from a personal standpoint I was born in Cherokee, KS so it certainly works for me.

Spoken in a Southern gentleman's accent while dealing with a street rat trying to accost ones person:

"Begon-ah ruffian, before-ah I take mah Cherokee Rose-ah to yuh"

You can choose your own way to stop the street rats laughter-sight or touch ;)

I may understand a small amount of the connotations Yvsa wants to avoid after doing a search on "Cherokee Rose", ( at least some of them ) - the story of them springing from the tears the mothers cried on the trail of tears.

But as with Auswitz ( spelling? ) it is America's call to never forget our own unspeakable history. It's also a story of courage, love, desperation, and of all that is good that comes of adversity. Beauty along the trail that killed somewhere about a quarter of those forced to endure it.

The Jews later developed the cry "Never Again". The Yvsa Cherokee Rose can state the same desire far more effectively.

It is, finally, your decision brother, and should be honored.

For some reason I am reminded of something my Cherokee Grandmother used to say about the Cherokees being one of the "five civilized tribes: "Actually, we are the ONLY civilized tribe." I think CG had perhaps a bit more tribal and cultural pride than many.

Bottom line: To me a Cherokee Rose by any other name is still a Cherokee Rose.

Whatever Bro says goes.

Guys,
You "all" can give the blade whatever "NAME" you want!!ME!! I'm just going to call it the "YVSA"!!One day ,maybe in a diff. "location",someone will ask to see the blade,"WHEN THEY SMILE, OR GASP,OR WHATEVER",& ask what is THAT, I want to just say "THAT'S A Yvsa"!:D

All very excellent suggestions and some that would represent way to much power for the common man, or lady.:)
Names reflect power and is one reason an ndn will never tell anyone except immediate family their whole name, but the immediate family already knows anyway.

I meant to post this last night, but fell asleep at the computer and finally just shut off the ISP connection and turned the monitor off before going to bed.

"Cherokee Rose" it is.
A very good name indeed!!!! Someone has something about the rose and the thorns protecting the rose in their bladeforums sig line that I've always liked.
It reflects that the rose never goes looking for trouble but yet is very able to defend itself if needed.
I feel that a knife that reflects that quality with its name is very desirable and it also reflects the ndns way of dealing with conflict whenever possible these days.

And I take full responsibility for the name just in case someone doth protest.:D

The "Yvsa Cherokee Rose".

That leaves me with a good feeling in my belly.

Rus,
As long as THAT NDN'S name is in it's title,I can live with that!
Just calling it a C. Rose doesn't sound right to me!
jim:cool:

Bro has the last say but we'll have to have the name tied down when the model flies. If you change names at BirGorkha you are giving the kamis license to change the knife.
