ZDP-189 Question

My ZDP Delica just arrived, and I noticed there is no lamination line, like I see on some ZDP Spyderco's. I though ZDP189 was a laminated steel, is that incorrect?

Regardless, the D4 is a sweet slicer.
 
Spyderco uses several different makers in Seki. Some of them have the industrial lasers required to cut solid ZDP stock. The maker(s) of the Delica, Endura and Stretch II have this equipment. Other makers don't have the lasers, and have to use laminated stock that they can cut blades out of with their equipment. The ZDP Caly Jr., Caly 3 and Jess Horn sprint run are all laminated for that reason.
