VG-10, VG-1 are more than adequate for all of my knife needs. I especially love the rust resistance, and the lower price.
If I lived in a dry environment I would probably consider ZDP.

i'm coming a little late to the party. i have a zdp paring knife and a vg10 chefs knife. ive had both for more than 10 years. here is my experience: both start out razor sharp. mostly i use the vg10 chefs knife. seldom i use the zdp paring knife. after a month or 2 with very little usage, the zdp dulled almost as much as the vg10. for years i cursed the day that i bought that blade. a few months ago i started oiling the zdp after use and now it stays very sharp. if the zdp is razor sharp, i think that it oxidizes. maybe with a dragonfly it doesn't matter but with a paring knife loosing the razor sharpness is an issue. so if you get a zdp keepp it oiled and you will be happy with it
