does anybody know if the ZDP Endura is or is going to be offered with a stainless handle? I've been looking around on the internet and can't find them, I wanted to know before I ask my local gun dealer to order one for me, I really would prefer a stainless handle on this knife

It might be possible to take the blade out of the FRN handle and swap it out with the blade on a stainless Endura 4. I'm not sure exactly how the stainless models are held together, but I'd be willing to bet that the blades are interchangeable between the stainless and FRN models.

Anyone know how to take a stainless Spydie apart and put it back together again?

I was thinking the same thing it just seemed to me that 50-60 bucks was a lot to spend on a handle that cost you $10 more to get usually

Hi VTguy,

No plans at this time to make a stainless version.

I do not recommend trying to take apart the knives and replace the blades. It is a difficult job, even for a custom maker.

...well if you ever make plans count me in...I guess I will just have to be happy with the black handled one I ordered today

thats right it's that British racing green FRN grip, never actually seen one in person, kinda looks black in the catalog...good thing I'm buying it for the blade, it's not the handle I would have wanted anyway:)

It's very dark green, it's almost an "off-black".

Anyway, the knife is a huge winner.

this will be my first blade in ZDP I am really looking forward to trying this steel out! From what I have heard it does take a little extra to sharpen it but I don't believe this will be a problem

I'm still waiting for the Endura ZDP to be widely available. NGK don't have them yet....love the Endura for its FRN. Now, making them in orange or red FRN scales would be ICING.

They are worth the wait. The PE's seem to sell out first, then the SE, lastly the combos. Some of those can still be found. Joe

I just edited my previous post. I left out the word "not", apologies. I do not recommend taking them apart. Sometims my brain works faster than my fingers and ?

I would personally prefer a titanium to a stainless steel handle. That is a custom job though. Spyderco only made the green handle as far as I know.

The knife kicks ass though. Super light and tough. Its a better Endura for me!

I did a serch on the forum and was not able to come up with the answer to this question so maybe I am just being redundant and need better search terms but I' will ask anyways...what Hc is spyderco hardening their ZDP to? Is it the same in all of their ZDP knives? What is an ZDP Endura hardened to?

I just got mine today this is the sharpest knife I have ever recieved out of the box
I agree. I've got mine for about a week now (both SE and PE) and they are definitely the most sharpest knives I've ever handled or seen. Absolutely fantastic knives. The PE is is more than scary sharp, it's unbelievably sharp!!!

I just can't get over them - have to EDC them everywhere I go and use them for just everything!

Maybe a pic or two to compliment them! :)
