ZDP for hiking/backpacking

Hmmm, I just read that here in my home state of New South Wales in Australia, fixed blades are prohibited in National Parks. That sounds truly bizarre.

Anyone know the story with this? I can just see some poor kid getting busted as they cut their birthday cake :)

^^ That sounds ridiculous, no fixed blade in National Parks??? How about nail clippers?

Thanks again LowTEC (and everyone). Yes availability seems a problem. ZDP-189 is easy to get in Spyderco folders. I can't actually find any production knives in 110v and s90v. Any suggestions? Any not too expensive customs?

S90V will always be expensive, that's what you have to pay for to get the cutting edge technology :(

For fixed blade you will have to go custom or Spyderco Mule. For folders you can look for the Manix and Military. S110V you can get shallot for a VERY affordable price, but SS handle will not work in wet application at all so I wouldn't suggest that

If you want to get great steel blades with affordable price, bring a sharpener along :)

although i agree that zdp is'nt rustproof i sliced tomatoes with my endura & left it unwiped for6 hours. --zero corrosion.think i'll try a lemon today & post in 8 hrs.
