Whats the story with this knife?????

It was supposed to come out in april wasnt it.... then it got postponed until October and now i was looking at CrocBlades and the expected arrival date isnt until 03/01/08????????? this is getting frustrating. I want to try out a zdp blade but HATE frn. I know i could get the CF calypso with zdp but i was waiting for the lum.

Im sure there is a reasonable explanation but it makes it no less frustrating.

Last news i heard was that hitachi was not satisfied with the batch of ZDP made for the blades, and scrapped everything and started over

I just heard from a Moteng rep that Spyderco has pushed the ETA to early 2008.

That is disappointing news. I hope this ZDP batch being scrapped had any negative effects on the release of the ZDP Stretch? I can wait for one wishlist knife, but two?!

Used to be, when Spyderco said April the reality was October. Now when they say 2005, the reality is 2008.

I'd bet back in the fifties, you could get a Randall after a three week wait.

This knife is really the reason I joined the collector's club. I hope that it comes sooner rather than later.
