Hi all,

I just ordered a pair of these german military surplus binoculars, and I wondered if anyone else had a pair, and could give me their opinions. I'd also like some info on how to use the reticle, and other features.

These binocs sound really cool -- they have a tritium-lit reticle, and can supposedely detect "active infra-red" sources -- any info on this feature would also be appreciated! On top of the bells and whistles, I've heard that these are some of the nicer bino's ever made, structually and optically. I just read the binoculars thread, and they sound like the ones that 'Willis' described.

Thanks for reading!

jeeves,if memory serves the ones my buddy owned were 7x50s but other than that they sound like the same glasses.Dude,I'm green with envy, you are in for a real treat those are amazing optics.Enjoy!

jeeves, I have a pair of 7x50 Jena's and they are absolutely great. I got them as a gift from a Russian officer about 8 years ago. I used them exstensively and have never had a minutes problem with them. I will say they are large and too darn heavy to carry around your neck all day, but for sitting and glassing or riding around in the truck they are great. Only problem I have had is prying them out of my hunting buddy's hands ever time I set them down. :D
Enjoy.
