Zero-ground (scandi) knife sharpening

I have this old marttiini lynx that I picket up at a gun-show. It's in somewhat decent shape, but the blade is quite dull (and thick), and I don not trust myself with re-profiling it back to it's "scandi" edge (also I do not feel like messing up the engraving on the blade). Is there any way to sharpen it without taking too much material? Ive tried stones n' stuff, but I still can't get an edge on it.

I have similar, older Martinnis, none of which came with a well defined grind or bevels, much less steel specs. Since they were always used outdoors I sharpened them on a lot of things over the years, mainly AR stones, strop, etc., and over time they took on their own 'bevel,' 'edge,' whatever you want to call it.

In this century, however, I have gone to a diamond rod, freehand, and it works fine. They aren't show knives but they sharpen well.

You could probably have a maker here re-grind it for you if it's worth your while.
