After reading allot about the 0562cf I found myself wanting one. :) Its nearly everything I want wrapped into one package. Ti frame & lock, M390 blade steel, Carbon fiber, ball bearings, hardens SS lock. Flipper. I so really wanted the 801cf and had money to do so but couldn't find it available anywhere. Kinda glad I wasn't able to because I pry wouldn't have ever used it. Mainly cause of how beautiful the thing is. 0562cf isn't quite as pretty IMO but still very nice. And I love that grind.

I already have a 0560. My question is what are the major differences between the two besides what I've already read. 0560 was like there flagship production back then wasn't it? 0562 there new flagship? Thinking if selling my 560 to buy a 0562. Would you? Like the m390, carbon fiber, hardend insert.

I'm a guy who always carries two blades.. Most the time its my PM2 and Dragonfly2. Rarely do I ever need anything bigger than the dragonfly. Anyone have any comparison pics for the 560 & 562cf and maybe a little feedback on how they compare to daily use?

Thanks!

Had a 560, and a 561, and a 550 & 551 (but I digress) The 560/561 were well made, flipped easily, and came scary sharp out-of-the-box. Alas, just a bit too big a blade for me to carry. (WV has a 3.5" blade limit for carry). The 550/551 were too thick for me, again well made, etc. My 0562 with a 3.5" blade is just right, (I know, it's sounding like Goldilocks and the Three Bears :) ) and my 0562CF should be here shortly. As a lefty, I carry the 0562 tip up in my left front pocket, and a Delica 4 in my right front. My Delica is my general go to knife for everyday small stuff, but since I carry my pistol IWB on my right hip, (right eye dominant) I carry my 0562 on the opposite side. Hope this helps...

Personally, I like the 0562 better. It's thinner in the pocket. It's handle is shorter in length. More or less the same blade size. And the blade pops out due to a stronger detent.
Without further adieu I present to you....

I think the 030x series was and still is the flagship model.
I forgot about the 300 series. But I wouldnt think they are flagship models. You gotta think what ZT considers there top of the line.. Not ours. To me that would be the top quality production folder they make that isnt limited edition. Something everyone will love and want.

Thanks for the pics! Didn't realize the 562 had those extra choils on handle. Guess thats to add grip since its CF and smooth Ti. Doesn't have the landyard hole either I just noticed.. No bother I never used it. Like the clip better. Tho I do like the rounded edges of the 560 better. I'm thinking I should switch

Heard allot about elmax vs m390 that there about the same just that elmax is a little tougher and m390 is a little harder. To me it seems m390 is choice for a pocket knife. Do we really need it to be extremely tough? We need something tough we'll bring a fixed along for the ride.

I agree, you should. Give it a shot and if you're not feeling it, you can always sell it and buy another 0560.

Hmmm. Seems to me you may have answered your own question.

Rarely do I ever need anything bigger than the dragonfly.

If it were me and I wanted to replace one of my knives with something nicer, I think I'd be looking at replacing the knife I use the most . . . not the one I use the least. YMMV, of course.

You're thinking about this the wrong way. My guess is that the OP is like me - he has a larger knife that's a defensive tool, and a smaller one that's more for utility. I put my money in the knife I hope I never have to use - the potentially life saving defensive tool. The utility tool gets used and abused - I don't spend as much on that.

I see what you're saying. Then again, the notion of using a knife for defensive purposes is not something I'm terribly keen on. I prefer small guns to large knives for that sort of thing. ;)

I totally agree.. Except I love the dragonfly. Dont see any reason to replace it yet except maybe to go for the H1 model. Which was only a problem because I lost it outside for 2 days in the rain. Still cleaned up nice. Tad surface rust. Still gravity closes too. :) I dont carry my 560 very often because my PM2 is a better option for my uses if I need a larger blade. When I go out into the woods I bring the 560 over my PM2 tho. Just dont need a 560&562 and I'm thinking I could sell the 560... Put in a few extra bucks and have a better heavy user if I need it.

Literally just got my cf version in the mail. so here is a pic.

Thanks again for the pics! The previous pics didn't show it open. It looks like its a decent amount shorter than I had thought. Though specs only show 1/4 inch. Guess that doesn't matter much to me. Its pry more legal in my state anyway (MI)

I think you just made my point. You feel the 0560 is their flagship model. I think ZT still feels like the 030x is the flagship. Its the most expensive, its in most of their marketing material and it's 'the Gibbs knife'.

You would be correct.. I work at night in allot of dark places. Granted my city isnt very dangerous. But I like having a larger knife just in case and I know sooner or later the dragonfly won't cut it. Which has happened a few times. My PM2 and 560 have only been used maybe a dozen times where the dragonfly felt a little weak.
