Zero Tolerance 0562CF, and Strider SMF.

Ok, I might have overdone it this time. I just bought both of these knives literally within hours of eachother. First, the 0562CF, then that wasn't enough. I bought the Strider SMF in CMP 154. After setting out to get a new knife just a few days ago, I would never have thought this is what i was going to end up with.
I honestly should probably take one back. I definitely caught the fever bad this time. I will post pics up of the new knives soon.
 
Congratulations on two great knives !!!!! :thumbup::thumbup:. I think you'll find, they're at opposite ends of the knife spectrum(whatever that is) and each will serve a specific need for your day to day chores.
I've got both, and once you get them in hand, you'll know.
 
Hey thanks for your reply! That's cool you have both to. Theoretically I only have one in hand, the other will be delivered tomorrow. I purchased the Strider from Monkey Edge. I didn't even know they were local. Maybe 30 minutes from my house.
 
Check to see if there is a restocking fee for either. Might help you make your decision.
 
Sounds like you are gonna have some nice blades soon. Your choices are superb to me. I would be broke if ME was local to me.
 
Haha, I'm keeping both, I don't care if I'm broke for a while it's worth it, I need some new steel already! I plan on visiting Monkeyedge sometime next month since I've never been as well. Thanks for the kind words, I'm pretty excited about the new knives!
 
Sounds like you had the same little moment I had recently: "I just spent more money on knives in the last twelve hours than most people will spend on knives in their entire life"
 
If you are having trouble with impulse purchases (we've all been there) don't ever drive to that high end knife store. You will walk out with stuff you definitely don't need.

Hey, quick update about my knife purchases. I don't want to bog down the forums to bad with my BS, but I actually took back my Strider SMF. There were a few reasons, but the main one being I found a Hinderer XM-18 Spanto on Ebay for a decent price, and I think it's overall a little more my style.
So now I have a ZT 0562CF, and a Hinderer XM-18. I don't know about having two knives that are so similar at that price point.
Ok, well I guess that's it.
 
Op I think you made the right choice . I've owned many striders and many zts . Owned hinderers as well.

I got my hinderer back when if you wanted a hinderer you paid for it . I bought it in person and on the drive home all I could keep thinking of was how the zt560 was cheaper , flipped better and just felt better to me in my hand (did I mention cheaper )

The SMF is probably the toughest folder I've ever owned . Seriously I've tried to break them before . Thing is they didn't cut that well to me.

The 562 may surprise you . As in why the heck did I buy a hinderer when this zt is basically the same knife ? It did me and no offense to hinderer but if the urge for a xm-18 ever came back knowing what I know now I'd probably go the zt route .
 
It's all personal preference man. Some guys like certain knives better than others, there is no right or wrong answer. Enjoy the ones you have in good health. Happy independence day.
