Zero Tolerance CF Scale Edge Finish Issue

Two friends of mine both got a ZT0562CF recently, both in 204p steel.
And I compared theirs to mine, finding that the carbon fiber scales edge finish(the slope created on the edge) have inconsistant quility. One got a really smooth finish, the rest got alot rougher finish.
I'm wonering is it a normal issue? Cuz You can definitely tell the difference at a glance.

Interesting...all I can say is that all of my ZT CF scales are nicely rounded and smooth.

thx for the information. here's a pic of a rough edge finish. how's it compare to yours?

I handled a 562CF and a 452CF at Smoky Mountain Knife Works a few days ago...wasn't impressed with the CF finish on either one.

I'd say mine is pretty close to perfect. I would either take some sandpaper to it, or send it back for replacement...probably the latter.

That clearly is defective. I wouldn't even accept that on a blem.
i actually just got my 0562cf replaced months ago due to the KVT bearing chamber problem(see my previous thread).
i'm posting this b/c i saw my friend's smooth edge finish and being curious about the big difference.
how could this passed their QC seriously?

As others have commented...that one has some issues. I would be inclined to send it back.

Just received my 0562CF today in the mail and it looks just like the one pictured, maybe even worse. Just emailed ZT about getting it replaced. Any follow up on what happened with the OP's scale issue?

I have a ZT0620CF and a ZT0777. The finish on the carbon fiber scale is perfect on both.

Same here. Mine is the original M390 but the finish on the CF is smooth. I don't have mine on me at the moment but I swear that CF pattern is different than stock...

Definitely send it in for warranty work. Given ZT's reputation for immaculate fit&finish, no way that's normal.

edit: If you do end up sending it in, let us know how they take care of you.

While I have seen this before it is not normal. Send it back to ZT and they will make it right!
