I saw this posted on another board and despite using the search function, I can't see where this has been posted here at Blade Forums.

As of last week, many of what I considered to be the flagship knives in ZT's product line have been discontinued.

The 0300, 0100 fixed blade, the Hinderer designed 0560, and my personal favorite the 0200 are all discontinued.

I called ZT and spoke to Melissa in customer service and she confirmed this is true and not an error on the website.

She said they are changing up their product line and promoting the newer designs.

Here is a list of all of the ones being discontinued:
0100
0160
0200
0200ST
0300
0300BW
0300ST
0301ST
0550
0560
0561

Glad I have a majority of those save for the 160; never owned one of those... Traded my 0200's & 0560 too, damn. :thumbdn::rolleyes::foot::D:cool:

i'm sure there's guys out there who have all those listed.:thumbup:

In my opinion, ZT has been expanding their brand and what it's all about recently, and to great effect. By introducing some "non-traditional" styles (for them anyway) like the 0808 and 0900, they're trying to evolve and bring new ideas to the table, challenging conceptions of what a ZT knife can be, while staying true to their overbuilt roots.

I see this as a good thing since it frees up resources and "roster space" for some exciting new models in the future, so don't fret! I mean, how many black handled, black-coated blades does one company need to make? :D

Back in mid-October 2014 ZT discontinued most of the old models like 0200 series, 0300/0301 series, 0560/0561 series, 0550 series, etc. The only old models still in regular production are 0301 and 0560BW.

A lot of threads that would pertain to this are closed for some reason. I really want a 0300 but was wondering if any one has found that the 3/8 inch nut sticks out far enough to irritate your leg and or wear a hole in the inside of the pocket when carried all day.

Why the bump? Anyways it seems to me ZT is discontinuing most of their "hard use tactical" knives and focusing on producing the more expensive collector blades, seems like the division has completely shifted its focus over the past few years.

They have introduced plenty of tough regular production folders the past year: 0562, 0562CF, 0620, 0620CF and 0630. Even the ones that do not look as tough have plenty of toughness about them: 0450, 0808, 0900 and 0452CF. They're just expanding their market.

Just to be 100% clear, the blackwashed 560 isn't being discontinued?

I'm in the process of saving up for one, that's why I ask :o

Correct. At least, not yet! :)

Also, even when discontinued you can still easily find them for several months thereafter.

Their knives DO seem to be becoming more dainty now that you point it out....

I'm wondering these Md's have run their course? It seems if they were hot sellers they wouldn't discontinue them.

 I agree completely. Carbon fiber is tough stuff, and the 0562CF and 0620CF are dressed up brutes. The 0452CF is lean and lightweight, but it's another very solid design. I wasn't sure how I'd like the 100% CF presentation side; I thought it might be flimsy, but it wasn't at all. A bit of flex, but not much more than you might find in a steel or ti scale the same size. They're changing and updating the line... the only model I'll really miss from the cut-list is the 0560/0561. I already have an 0560CBCF and 0561, but I really like the look of the 0560BW... it's not cut yet, but the end is nigh.

That way, when you leave at a peak, the Farewell tours down the road will be lucrative.

They'll be back....

Are we talking about a reissue of these models being discontinued? I havent seen reissues of any really popular past models. To me when they are gone they are gone for good. There have been plenty of requests for new versions of old models. It would need to be a damn big demand for me to believe they will revisit anything unless many many years down the road.
