Zero Tolerance Knives discontinuing many models including the Hinderer 0560.

It looks like they discontinued most of the Hinderer and Ken Onion designs, except for the 0560BW and the 0350. That makes me wonder if there was some kind of contract that expired regarding use of their designs. I vaguely remember reading about how a few companies couldn't re-introduce certain models, despite overwhelming demand, because they no longer have permission from the designer.

There may be some validity to that argument.

The G&G MUDD (ZT 0500) is now being re-released by Gavin Hawk as a custom.

However, Hinderer designs are alive and well at ZT with a number of new releases the past year or so: 0566 series, 0562 series and 0180 fixed blade.

Maybe some else can, but I cannot think of one ZT that was discontinued and then re-released.

Anyone???

You could argue the 0770 was a re-release of the 0777 - especially the 0770CFM390. That's the best I can think of.

The ZT 0770 series was inspired by the 0777 but there are many differences. Size, KVT vs. AO and 3D contoured CF vs. flat CF. The aluminum 0770 had nice 3D contouring but it would've cost ZT too much to do that on CF. CF is tough and time-consuming on bits.

By the same token, ZT 0454 inspired 0454204P, 0452CF and 0450.

The Hinderer designs are my favorite ZT's so far that is. Glad I have examples of most.
