Zero Tolerance Knives

The thickness will be .156, and it is flat ground. There are no immediate plans for any other sizes.
Glad you like it, I think alot of the pattern as well.

Thomas W,

Thank you! I will buy one. 4.25 is highly illegal to carry in Hungary, (and I guess nearly anywhere from Vladyvostok to L.A.) but I coulldn't care less. And if Kershaw ever comes out with a smaller one, I will buy that one too. ZT 200 is on the top on my - quite short - must buy list.

The ZT 300 has definately caught my eye. Thomas, is there anyway to get a better picture of it up? What type of locking system does it have? I can really dig short and stout, but unless my eyes deceice me isn't the ZT 300's blade listed at 4.25"? Final question Thomas, when do you expect these to be available to the general public.......just a ballpark figure.

P239, I will get up a picture for you shortly.

The 300 is a titanium frame lock with a 3-D machined G-10 front scale. Your eyes didn't deceive you, its blade length tallies in at 4.25", so it's anything but short. With the permission of Strider Knives, we did do a tiger stripe blade finish on her. It does look as you describe in the pictures, but it has an overall length of 9.5". It also weighs in at 8.6 oz.

Delivery, I'm guessing the first articles will be out by the end of April.

Thanks for the response Thomas, and thanks Steve for the pictures. When I was asking about availability, I was assuming that the first production pieces were not going to be available for the general public, but for military and LEO's. So does the April date still stand, or will it be later in the year before these, ZT300, are available to the regular joes? Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions Thomas!:D

Btw, are these constructed with both halves of the handle made from titanium w/overlays, or is it one-half titanium, and one-half G-10?

Thomas, while you're answering Mr. P239's question, please tell me when us average schmucks can buy the ZT0100 as well. That 0100 looks like it might be my new favorite fixed blade. Any idea what stores we should check out when looking for these blades?

They look good, but they should have picked a more original name.
For those of you that don't know:
http://homepage.mac.com/zombiekiller/badmojo/zt.html

It is entirely possible that those that came up with the name of this knife line were not even aware of the Busse use of the name, and frankly, the term "zero tolerance" has been in the public domain for years. I didn't know that Busse had a range of knives called Zero Tolerance, and while I do not claim to know everything about knives, I know more than many.

Did you know that the "flipper", and plunge lock on folding knives was created by Mr. Robert Hayes pre-1974? Most people don't know that.

If your implication is that somehow Kershaw is trading on the use of Busse's choice of name to bolster sales, that is somewhat laughable.

Kershaw could have named this range the "Personal Snapping Turtle" or PST, and they would still sell a boatload.

Thomas,

Sorry if this has been answered already, but any chance of 100% dedicated leftie models - as in, total opposite treatment of the liner lock, & not just adjustable clip positioning? Thanks.

Hi all,

I'm going to get some hi-res pics up on Monday for you all, those low-res look pretty weak. Sorry about that.

P239, the 300 has a titanium frame lock on the back side, and G-10 w/a liner on the front.

In regards to ZT delivery vs. the general public, it will be tough initially for you all to get these knives. Outlets for the ZT line are currently being established, and will become more clear in the upcoming weeks who those businesses are. I trust you all understand our direction with this product line, and who they are designed for. I wish I could be more specific on "where" you can get the ZT line, but it is a little early for a list of dealers. I will keep you all up to date as we move forward.

Doc, the 100 is a machine that will stand up to most. 3V is incredible stuff. See above about delivery.

Dave, there are plenty more ZT knives in the wings. We had a new product meeting last week, and there are multiple directions we are looking at. I have spoke on possibilitiess like the boot knife, there are 2 automatics, a Strider fixed blade, and others as well. These and others will be the "next wave" of ZT products we hope to be debuting at the 06 Blade Show. Don't you all start with me on spec, pics, pricing, and delivery with these new items. I am open for your all suggestions though.

Walking Man, I think there is a difference between what the Busse team did back a few years ago, and what we have established today. Their line was a series of knives under the Busse name, and we are starting up an entirely new brand name of knives. Both companies have spoke, and there are no issues. The Zero Tolerance name is registered to Kershaw Knives. It is unfortunate that on occasion knife companies run over the top of other companies knife names.

Steven, PST...hmmm...Personal Snapping Turtle....funny stuff. Oh and thanks for the "tarded" comment, strange how my wife areed with you.

Murky, at this time there are no plans for a 100% lefty knife, sorry.

I didn't imply anything of the sort. Please don't insult me. I realize that this is most likely a coincedence.
What I am suggesting is that when companies give their knives names they ought to do a little more research. That's all. It wouldn't have taken much effort to discover the Busse knives.

Walking Man, usually trademarked attorney's are brought into the picture once a knife name is agreed upon, and and a company decides to register the name. They do the research, and are good at what they do. It is not the norm for a manufacturer to do their own knife name "homework". Sure we go back in our memory banks to see if anyone recalls a knife name, a internet search is done, but ultimately it goes into attorney's hands. Hope that helps.

KnifeCollector, thanks very much. Happy to be here.

Bummer.

Judging from that, I'm guessing that most companies lose money on their leftie productions, & simply keep them around to make the birth-defected guys happy? :p

Thanks Thomas for your commitment & interaction with the board.

Murky, your right on the money on you assumptions concerning left handed knives. The market share on lefty knives is small and not all that profitable. Thanks goodness for reversible clips, and locks that can be manipulated with either hand.
Hopefully all you lefties don't feel like we discrimate against you too much.

As far as my commitment and interaction to this board, it has been a pleasure talking with you all, and I look forward to the future with you as well.
