The contego is very aggressive G-10 which tears up the hand. 0550 scales are cheap and really hot it up

Sounds reasonable to me. If you're implying I have a addiction you may or may not me correct. But as long as my wife don't know it's cool
Good decision.
The 0550 and, to a lesser extent, the 0200 have been the only ZTs that have really appealed to me. I'm not crazy over the look of the G10 on either knife but their other qualities make up for that. It's sad to hear ZT is discontinuing the 0550. Once again this shows the truth in the adage "If something is really good, they'll stop making it".

So, do I have a problem? $30 custom G10 scale for a $25 Cryo II?

0550 got here. Made a very nice first impression. I knew I would like the aesthetics of the knife besides the pattern of the G10. It didn't disappoint. That blade shape just seems so right and the g10 pattern wasn't something I paid any attention to. I guess as long as I avoid staring at photos of a knife I own, I can make my peace with the handle . Feels good in the hand. It fits my small/medium sized hands better than the contego. Whole lot of empty space at the end of the contego when I grip it. I'll post a new thread if I want to get more into a comparison discussion.
