Zero Tolerance Logo is Terrible!

No - the positioning of the text and logo on the new 0460 blade I have to say is among the worst of all ZT knives.

The ZT logo is okay.

However, I definietly agree that the branding of Zero Tolerance on the clip of the new 0460 is way too much. It takes away from the nice aesthetics of the folder.

Wow, those are out? Now why didn't BH e-mail me. Ah, probably sold out the pre-orders. Nice. Love the lines on that knife. But see what I mean about the logo on the blade? Why ZT, why?
Can that be like, ground or polished off or something? I mean, that is just WRONG.

Nice knife, BTW. It is not your fault that ZT insists on being aesthetically obtuse.

I hate reates name and logo. Actually WE is probably the only chinese log i do like even though i really like chinese knives. As for ZT i dont mind their logo so much but rather the using the blade for all the information id rather have on the box. Im waiting for the limited edition that has the warranty information laser etched on the blade.

I don't mind the Kizer logo. Just needs to be about 1/3 the size. They are also way too prominent on the blade, IMHO.

And why, generally, do makers insist on putting their logo smack-dab in the middle of the show side of the blade. Again, WE KNOW WHAT WE BOUGHT and it's not like it serves any advertising purpose.
That's like Ford or BMW putting a 24" medallion on the driver-side door of a Mustang or 5-Series, or having "Hinkley" spelled out in 3 foot letters down the hull of your Picnic Boat.

ZT, maybe take a lesson from GEC. On many of their knives, the only branding is a little "GEC" etched on the base of blade (ok, I don't know the term for that portion on a traditional, maybe it's the ricasso). On some knives, there will be an artistic logo or text on the blade itself, but that is done for people who specifically want it there, but many of the blades are plain. It's the same with the shields inlaid on the covers, some will say "Tidioute" or "UNXLD" while some will be plain, with no text. If you want the plain blade you go for one with the plain blade. If you want the branding you go for the branding. But ZT, you take a beautiful knife and the slap a logo all over an otherwise lovely blade and it just looks God-awful.

Stoppit!

I like seeing the manufacturer's name/logo, country of origin, blade steel, model# and serial# on the knife but it sure could be a lot more subtle and should only be visible upon close inspection.

There is to much carp on the blades of most folders today.

I have to agree about the size of the ZT logo, it's too big. And tacky but CRKT is worse. Benchmade's butterfly can be a little large sometimes too. I do find their gold box & custom loge very tasteful, though.

I can live with a name or logo on a pocket clip but get rid of all the garbage scattered all over the knife. Put all the needed info on the knife's box and on the base of the blade in small letters.

I dislike the logo and the name. Why they mill it into some of their knives is just beyond me.

SOG is by far the most annoying in my book. Soon there blades will be like their clips, just one giant S-O-G blade.

Even better, an S blade O pivot G handle. Of coarse with an SOG clip.

Hinderer, Benchmade, Spyderco I feel are the coolest.

ZT's logo isn't bad IMO, just boring. There's something about having letters in logos....I think they look better without (or where they can be left out like the butterfly....you see that and you know Benchmade). ZT also puts the logo in too many places usually. I'd prefer just one ZT logo myself, preferably on the blade. Or better yet, come up with something without letters. Spyderco can slip the spider on the blade along with the word Sypderco and again on the clip and it doesn't seem to bother me as much. Maybe it has to do with letters sticking out more than shapes?? Don't know, but it doesn't bother me too much.

Why do they have to put it on their pocket clip? Some times even on the scales? Enough please we get who you are we bought your knife. LOL. Oh, and it's a boring logo.

I like the simplistic design from ZT, and funny enough I actually like it on the clip. Just the logo. Same with my Benchmade's and Spyderco's(hourglass) clips. I dig their logo on the pocket clips and probably would choose one that has it if I was given the choice between that and the same clip without the design.

Putting their name/logo on a handle is kind of stupid. I wouldn't want that at all nor do I see any reason to do that.

And I just saw a wicked logo earlier today on this site, RMJ Tactical's to be specific. Never saw that one before, but it may be my all time favorite. The Jolly Roger type skull with two tomahawks crossed.

ZT initials are just fine...along with the steel type. That's all I care about. I know what company made it, and don't care if onlookers do or don't.
The KISS principle applies here.

I kinda like the ZT stencil logo.

The model and steel info on the blade doesn't bother me on modern designs.

I don't care for logos emblazoned on my traditional slip-joint knives though, I guess lettering is less obtrusive than is the larger logos I sometimes see on the traditional knives.

And, of course, none of the marking on the blade mean a thing in terms of actual use.

I like the Spyderco "splatball bug", but it has always looked like a paintball splat to me.

The Benchmade butterfly "bali-song" logo is a little played out, but it's their deal and again, no impact on cutting performance.

Probably the coolest logo in my opinion was the Izula ant - I liked the look of that on a knife.

Lastly - I don't mind the logo on a pocket clip - I have been asked occasionally about a knife based on someone noticing a logo on the clip (bespeckled old men bending over to examine it notwhithstanding, BigBlue lol......), and I actually like that white Zero Tolerance logo on the 460 clip. Love the font.

Aside from the Shivworks logo I mentioned before I love the Emerson "Bad Intent" skull. That is just an awsome logo.

While on the subject of skull logos the Szabo skull logo is badass too.

Have you seen some knives which you just know is being used by a kid since it'll have the kid's name spelled out in all caps in thick black ink? It's like wow, ruin a perfectly nice knife.

At least it shows ownership in a big way. Makes things less fussy. You'll always know whose it is. But why? Different strokes. Not for me also. Just pay attention, dammit.

The little fish on the Candiru is also cool. Good call not showing it "in action" if you catch my drift.
