Hi,

I was looking for a 'quality' knife and I stumbled upon the ZT Kershaw 0200. I was wondering what you experts and enthusiasts think about this knife (compared with Boker AK101 for example).

Here is a summary:The 154-CM Partially Serrated stainless blade features a Tungsten DLC Coating and measures 4 1/4". Handle is 3-D machined G-10 in a Black Finish. Measures 5 1/4" closed with a rock-solid Liner lock. Pocket clip is reversible and can be applied for tip up or down carry on either side. Weighs 7.7 oz. Professional piece for those who want the very best in a combat folder.

Thanks in advance!

don't know about the boker, but the 0200 is a quality knife if you can handle the weight. :) i am sure you will get a lot of votes for the 0200 here!

Get the ZT 0200. Trust me on this. However, be warned that ownership of a ZT 0200 will want to make you wear a Citizen Ecozilla 300mm SS dive watch, and drive a H2 Hummer.:D.:D.

I don't have one (an 0200 that is), but Kershaw is one of the best manufacturers out there right now, and the ZT line is specifically the creme of the crop.

Get the ZT.

Having extensively fondled one, the only thing that should stop you from buying it is, God forbid, an internet failure while purchasing it from your favorite online knife store.
:D

I had one & sold it b/c I'd never need such a brick-house beast of a folder. But if I ever did, the 0200 is top-notch!!!!

HAHAHA!

I drive a BMW and wear a Tissot watch so I guess I don't qualify...

topspeclt, I saw your other post inquiring about the Boker. Good homework.

As for the blade length on the ZT0200, measurements are "where you take them". On my 0200, from the handle to the tip, top of the spine, it's 3 3/4". Now if you move to the business side of the blade, the cutting edge, it measures just under 4" of cutting surface. This doesn't include the recurve, which lends itself to handling multiple cutting tasks with ease. Overall length is 7 7/8". Weight, per my USPS certified scales, is 7.9 ounces. 4 tip options, up, down, left or right.

As I said, I'm not familiar with the Boker, but I can tell you from experience that there are three things that make the ZT0200 stand out: Made in the USA by Kershaw, it carries Kershaw's lifetime warranty, and should you have any problems with your 0200, Kershaw's customer service is at the top of the list.

Thanks a lot of that detailed info. I couldn't decide so I bought both of them!:D

That concludes my knife collection.

Now I will have to go camping and hunting! ;)

topspcelt, Please do a review of them after you've spent some time with each and let us know what you think!

Riffraff, I was thinking the same thing! Concludes? with Kershaw? :D

Uh Huh !! More like to be CONTINUED !!! Once that hook goes in, it doesn't come out easily, rehab groups don't even help !!! :D:D

I've already started rehabilitiation and the word 'concludes' was chosen with great optimism and hope...

I need to have a big justification to get another knife. If I could (financially) I would buy the whole Kershaw collection.

My approach is this:

Step 1. Look for a Kershaw or other knife where I really like the specs and look of (probably Kershaw).

Step 2. Find the item on ebay or a good seller somewhere

Step 3. Monitor bid until tensions rise/peak

Step 4: Pull out altogether and give the money to charity instead.

Blasphemous I know but buying knives ain't gonna get me sh*t on Judgement day. :D (unless I do some good with it that is...)

Apologies for going against the grain.

BTW: SPXTrader - I'll put up a review of the knives and will definitely compare them. I've already posted a review of the Boker Tanto Fixed blade in the BOKERUSA section of this forum.

I am glad to hear you have started rehab, but please remember that the twelve step program for this addiction requires you to have one Kershaw for each of the twelve steps , I have completed the program numerous times and I am getting better every day !! Also rest easy in the knowledge that buying or not buying knives will have no effect on Judgment day !!!!
