Zero Tolerance Price Jumps on Amazon?

Perpetual lurker here, finally decided I had something to ask for myself. This is my first post and it may be an odd topic to bring up, but I've been watching ZT prices on Amazon for the past few months and trying to slowly add to my collection. As for my question: Why have the prices of almost every "entry-level-priced" ZT (0350, 0566, etc.) shot up ~$20-$40 over the past month or two? I am trying to limit myself to 1 knife purchase per month, so I've been patiently waiting to see if the prices will drop back off before the end of February, but I'm getting impatient. I was just wondering if anyone knew what was going on in the ZT market. Amazon features a ton of common knife sellers and it seems all of them have raised prices together. I am a big fan of the 0350 and 0566 and have found it impossible not to want to own all the variations, but I don't want to waste $30 if I don't have to. I'm also open to any suggestions for other sellers. I check the exchange religiously, but don't see many people parting with ZT's (except 0392's...). For those of you that don't know, you can use CamelCamelCamel to track the past history of any Amazon listing, just in case you're curious.

As a side note, I just want to thank all the members here for the ridiculous amount of amazing reading material you've given me for the last year or so. I've come a long way from the $1.50 Walmart knives.

I always look at several different sites and compare the prices to amazon. I love amazon but sometimes the knives are much cheaper at other sites. Plus, if you are getting a high end knife it might be advisable to get it from a trusted retailer to avoid purchasing a fake.

Buy from a trusted dealer and you wont have that problem. There's a lot of great people that stand behind their service. No sense in feeding a giant faceless business to save a couple bucks IMO.

Check the list of sponsored dealers. Kershawguy is of worthy mention if your looking at zt.

I'm definitely all for supporting dealers. Most of the knives I buy from Amazon are actually sold by dealers/shops and just fulfilled by Amazon. That's why I like Amazon. It allows smaller sellers to get their goods to a large market, while also promoting a competitive environment to benefit the buyer. I'm also a little bias because I have Amazon Prime, so if I have a problem, it's pretty much no questions asked on the return.

It may also be that some Amazon sellers were offering the knives below MAP. ZT recently made the decision to enforce their MAP rules much more strictly and that's had a fairly profound effect on the street price of the knives.

Now that is the kind of insight you can't get anywhere else! Thanks for the heads up. I think Kershawguy has an order for the 0350KW coming his way! Just a different model I don't have. I've read mixed reports on whether the blade is the same as the 0350SW or slightly more satin. Anyone have both?

The blade on these KW's is a light stonewash as compared to a little heavier stonewash on the SW model. ZT has been working to clean up Amazon sellers discounting ZT products, it is getting under control.
