Zero Tolerance Question

I've been looking to add a zero tolerance folder to the arsenal. I currently have a Microtech Amphibian Auto, Microtech SOCOM Elite MA, Microtech UMS auto, and a Surefire Delta. I've been real interested in the ZT0300 series, but have also been looking at the ZT0200 as well. Anybody have these knives that can make a recommendation? Any reason to favor the 0300 over the 0200 (other than price) or vice versa? I've noticed LA poice gear has the zt0300 for $245 vs. $295 everywhere else. Any thoughts would be appreciated. TIA

Hondo, I have the ZT 0200, and I did consider the 301/302 before getting it. The obvious differences, which I'm sure you've seen on the Kershaw website are:
-0200 is 154CM, 301/302 is S30V. Both good steels.
-0200 black/black blade only, 301/302 striped blade only
-0200 G10 w/steel liners, 301/302 G10 w/titanium liners

I did consider both, the two major factors for me were colour and opening mechanism. I have quite a few assisted opening knives, and I love them all, but this is a knife I would take out in the bush camping, where I don't have access to all my tools. If I were to drop it into sand, dirt, or for whatever reason needed to take it apart, I would rather not take anything with a spring in it, I'm not that skilled at it yet. That might change as I play with them more and gain more experience, but for now that was a major factor in taking the 0200. The fact it's about half the price in some cases doesn't hurt either. If you want AO and are taking out into the bush, consider the ZT 0500.
BTW, NGK has them on for $236 (301/302) and $129(0200).

Dann (glockman) should be around shortly to tell you how much he loves his 0200 shortly, along with joejeweler.

Hope this helps, good luck with your decision.

Sixfoot7,
Thanks for your input. BTW, you can get a non-striped blade in the ZT0300 series from TAD gear. They offer an exclusive version that has a non-reflective , non-striped finish on a ZT0300...

(I'll assume NGK is New Graham Knives)

BTW, Thomas W. mentioned that the TAD Gear CE and DW versions (at least I think it was both) of the 300's had their blades hand ground by renowned custom knifemaker Tim Galyean. Makes them a phenomenal bargain I think.

I have the 0301, and I love it. It is one very solid and well built knife. Very comfortable to hold. I definitely plan on picking up a 0200 and 0500 eventually, but I have to admit, I like the 0301 enough that I am seriously considering getting one of those Tim ground TAD Gear versions too.

Didn't know that TAD Gear had the limited editions. Good find. If Kneedeep is correct about Tim hand finishing those particular models, that would be a great deal. Might pick up one for myself. The 0200 is still a bargain IMO.
I knew that someone like Kneedeep would respond eventually. He, as well as others such as 2brothers, Offsetlover, and OregonEdge, just to name a few, are the ones who you should really listen to. They have far more Kershaw experience than I do. I'm just an idiot with 15 or so Kershaws and a keyboard :D. Go over to the Kershaw forum and you will quickly see who is knowledgeable in there.
Yes NGK is New Graham. Good prices for you guys down there. Again, good luck with your search. Let us know on the Kershaw forums what you eventually decide on.
