Received the set today. I want to say by way of explanation what turns out to be better in hand than seen in the pics. At least my impression of what the pics show.
Some knife blades have that rough look and feel. Instead of cleaning off and polishing down the forged texture some makers leave it on the flats of the blade. Polish the rest.
A technical term for that raw surface exists, I just don’t know the term. On this knife what appears in the pics on the swedge and the grind as raw and rough is not that ‘forged look’ at all.
The blade grind and swedge on this knife is smooth as a surface can be. But has not even an ‘orange peel’ feel. Is that hand done?
Jeweling is found a lot on titanium liners and is machined. You combined a hand done, jeweling smooth surface and combined it with this ‘jigsaw puzzel’ textured patern. When I received the knife to find it has no roughness on the swedge and grind, I was like, this is better than expected.
It is hard to photograph, it appears like a rough blade. I think remarking that it is much nicer only clears up something the pics don’t show. So Your blade in my opinion has a unique quality, put there by the maker, You have taken another ‘thing’ to the next level. Nice work Sir.
