Hi Guys

I broke my new Zing :grumpy:

The day after I bought it I noticed that the tip was slightly bent. Instead of sending back to be replaced I decided it would be a quick fix to do it myself....

Bad Idea!

So I did a quick repair job and re-tipped my little Zing

I think it looks pretty good, not perfect but pretty good. What do you guys think?

BTW - the Zing is a great little knife. I did some cutting today while hanging new blinds for my sister-in-law, and the Zing was great to use. The only complaint I might have is that the handle is a little small for prolonged cutting chores.

Cheers
Chris

You know what?
Actually I think I like this blade shape even more than the original one (aesthetically)
Well done!

I have a Zing to, and sometimes when i use the flipper the tip will scratch the palm of my hand, breaking yours off eliminated that problem, and it looks fine to me, good job.

Well, its official now.
Breaking the tips on Zings and making them Random Zings is the way to go.
No more tip problems

That’s very cool, I got two from wal-mart the other day I may just have to try that on one of them.

I really like the look and have actually done that type grind to a couple of my own knives. Didnt have broken tips, just rounded a bit. Used a Dremel tool, while blade was in water, and did the regrind. Believe it or not, one was a BM610 Rukus, and the other was a Strider AR!

Looks good, as long as it didn't get to hot during grinding.

I took care while grinding. I only did a small amount at a time and kept a bowl of water handy to dunk it in. It never got too hot for me to touch.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys.
